A friend of mine (UK) had to have his bike collected last Friday with temperature problems. The dealer called him with a progress update, told him they'd fixed it and also uploaded the latest fuelling map that has just been released. He definitely had the 0206 update last year (Tuneboy verified).

Just brought in my panigale to service center and got it hook up to the DDS. There is fuel map update which even the dealer and Ducati HQ Malaysia wasn't aware off. Let see whether this new map fix the power dip.
 
So I'm waiting for a tuneboy user to get this map and give us an identifier for it. 207 ?

Just got it updated...Its not a major update but it made significant change to the bike.The bike feels more responsive and kinda fix the power dip issues.The bike feels more gruntier and aggressive through out the rev meter.

this is consistent with what i experienced. as i said earlier in this thread, i got the termi slips installed. on the ride home from the dealership i noticed a very nice difference. much smoother delivery and less dip in the power through low revs.
 
Brad, the bike can't run 100% smooth without the 41sprocket, in fact you are still missing a lot!
I had the 41 installed together with the new mapping 2weeks ago.

Yes I accept that.

I just prefer the stock gearing for now.
I'll be constantly re-evaluating the 41 tooth option for when this original set of sprockets/chain is due for replacement.

There's also the current update for you to try as well as the 41 tooth sprocket option if you haven't got it already;)

By reevaluate, you mean waste more time with a terrible gear ratio?!


I'm just ribbing you, but seriously... the 39 is not suited for the track and was, to date, the most satisfying performance modification I've done.

I appreciate the input.

It's just that I'm a bit of a tight ass, and I want to get full value out of what I've already paid for.
At about the current chain/sprocket set half life, I intend to replace the front sprocket with another genuine 15 tooth unit.
Then replace the whole lot when the chain is stretched too far, and the rear sprocket is worn down too much.
The hard part is picking the best point at which to replace the front sprocket.

Also before this latest update, and with this gearing.
I could tell what speed I was doing at the relevant statutory speed limit.

The bike would run smooth at about 3200 rpm at 50 km/h in second gear.
At 60 km/h in third gear.
At 70 km/h in fourth.
And 80 km/h in fifth.

That way I could keep my licence more easily;)

Now with the latest update.
The line is seriously blurred, so I can't go by how smooth the engine's running anymore:(
I have to actually watch the speedo now:eek:
Instead of riding by feel.

IN regards to which you should replace, I think the choice is easy. A rear with more teeth decreases frequency of contact and theoretically increases lifespan. Also, with a QC carrier, subsequent sprockets are less expensive and you can swap between closely sized sprockets if you'd like to.

It's just that I can't decide which way to go with the QC carrier.
There are so many really nice options out there.
And with Titanium bolts and nuts as well:)

So for now I just have to slum it with stock gearing until I can finally decide.

Besides.
I can get into trouble quicker than I can get out of it, with the stock gearing.
Getting the lower gearing option would compound the problem for me:eek:

Lol ya, but I noticed how bad it suffered at the track and that's where I ride it mostly. I use my DRZ400SM for commuting and trips in town, I don't regret my decision at all :).
 
I can"t count that high.

Besides I don't like change(it's the autism)
and 43 might be too far:eek:

I might have trouble keeping it upright if I put new tyres on:eek::eek:
