Do you know the production date on your bike? Mine is October 2013. I'm wondering if I'm in the same boat as you. Thanks!

You might be in the same boat.
Other members have up to date bikes, and they're having it installed with good results.

As I've said previously, the dealers don't seem to have official notification of an update, and the update doesn't become apparent until the bike is actually connected to the DDS computer.

I suppose if your bike is running as well as you think it could possible be.
There's no point in being too concerned about it.

For me, I always felt as though there was a great deal of room for improvement. And my bike was completely up to date(except for the 41 tooth Sprocket).
I was waiting for DUCATI to sort it out, as they seemed to be the only ones in a position to be able to effectively do something about it.
Sometimes you just got to have a little faith Baby;)

That's what pompted me to ask about it while I was at the dealer, because WAF had flagged it as a possibility, based upon the tip-off he had.

Are you far from a dealer to take it in?

Well the service manager just called to say the bike is ready - I asked if there were any updates when they plugged the bike in and he didn't seem to know. To be fair he is off on annual leave from tomorrow so he has probably already "checked out" - I'll hopefully be able to speak to one of the mechanics when I pick the bike up tomorrow.

Well nothing really to report I'm afraid - the tech who worked on my bike wasn't there when I picked it up. Having said that, the bike DOES seem to be running a lot smoother in the low to mid range.

My bike got serviced last week and I asked the service manager if there has been any updates to the map lately and his reply was no. However, I also noticed the same, the bike is a lot smoother now, may be its in my head?

Also, the way you change the menu has also changed.

Thanks for the feed back.

Remember that there's often a variable disconnect between the service manager and the dealer tech as to what's actually going on in the w/shop.
Often the service manager only knows what the dealer tech relays to him either verbally, and or what he documents on the work order.
An update that's installed as a standard part of the service process would not normally be reported as it's a part of standard procedure.

Going by the way you say the bike is running smoother, I would say it's indeed quite likely it did get the update.

There's literally nothing else that can make such a profound difference to how smooth the bike runs after the update, unless the bike has been tuned at further expense on the dyno with the aid of added aftermarket software, and disconnected Lambda probes or fitment of Wide Band Lambda probes.

Enjoy the new experience:)

It not only runs smooth but weired to say it feels like an inline four while cruising on motorways. It revs a lot nicer and the 195Hi Engine mod is a lot smoother and throttle control is much easier.

Previously, if I was going to change the engine mod in Sports mode from 195lo to 195 Hi, I would have to press the switch for a few seconds for it to select it, now after the service and possibly some update that is there, you have to ''double click'' it. This was not there before.

Yep that's it.
That's the way it feels after the update.
If this is the way the bikes felt originally.
I'm confident a lot of people wouldn't have gone down the path of trying to improve the tuning at great expense.

Interesting about the mode button.
Thanks for explaining what you were referring to regarding the mode button as I was curious as to what you were talking about.

I didn't notice any change with the way the mode function button functioned the other day. It thought it was the same as it's always been, like as described in the owners manual.
So I just went and checked my bike to see if there is any change
It's still the same as it has always been.

Press momentarily to scroll through the modes.
Hold button down for a couple of seconds to select the displayed mode.

I tried a double click like you describe, but it just moved onto the next mode for selection.

What I did notice about the bike since the update, was that when ridden in the various modes there was a much less pronounced difference between them form a practicality point of view.

I always felt that the throttle action in 195 lo was the worst in terms of practicality, and being able to ride smoothly.
I put it down to the algorithms being different.
Now the throttle action is much more uniform after switching between all the modes.
I find myself switching between 195 lo and 195 hi to try and discern any differences. It's difficult to pick between them now:)
With the 120 in the default wet mode being closer to the 195 lo setting.
Whatever they've done, both the 195 lo and 195 hi modes feel very much the same now, with the end result being that it's simply smoother to ride right across the board than the bike ever was:)

That is correct, the smoothness in throttle between the different modes is very close now, I definitely know for sure that this was not the case for me before the service.

By the mode button I meant not changing from Wet to Sport or Sport to Race, but going with in the Engine changes of the Sport mode through the setting menu (by holding down the control switch for a few seconds first) and then switching the 195lo to 195hi. The switch from 195lo to hi previously worked if you pressed the indicator cancel button on it for a few seconds but now it works if you double click the indicator cancel button on it unless it has always been the case!

I just went and had a look at mine again.

Everything seems to function as before with my switches.
There's no change.

When in the sub menus for the various modes it's scroll up/down with the up and down switches on the switch block to alter settings.
Briefly press the center/cancel button to select/cue the memory.
Press and hold the center/cancel button to commit the new setting to the memory.

I tried a double click on the center/cancel button and it did nothing at any time:(

It doesn't matter though.
Because the bike is absolutely superb now since the update;)
Before it was magnificent(even if it was flawed):)

so this new update... No more lag in throttle response.. or when u wanna putt around @ 4-5k RPM's it no longer shudders...

Is that what you guys are telling me ...

it has become perfect.. aside from the heat ??

My mechanic advised not to "lug" the engine. "Keep it 4k and above." " don't cruise around at 3 grand!" .... So I keep it above 4k when cruising.

That's the idea behind it;)
Some bikes are getting it and some are not.
There has been no official advise issued to dealers prior to release.
The only way to know if your bike is going to get it installed is to go to your dealer and have it connected to the DDS computer.

IMO, this latest update is better than the previous ones put together:)

What heat?

It's a good thing we aren't governed by post rationing;)
