If true then Dang it!!! Oh well makes it an easy decision not to buy it... :)

30k is just a little bit more then the 1199r but still a hefty price tag

I was seriously considering the street version. But 30k is a lot of cash for a bike.

250 hp for the street is insane anyways.

Didn't you just get your 1199 not too long ago? Just enjoy that for a few more years and the first-gen H2 will be about $15,000 used. By then, the 220 hp R1, new GSX-R 1000, 2nd Gen Aprilia RSV4 and of course the 1299 will be the talk of the town, not to mention the *other* supercharged Kwaks that will most assuredly come down the pike.

I thought sport bikes were dead, long live sport bikes!

Knowing 848's still hold course records, this bike does nothing for me.

You could take it to the salt and go fast in a straight line and buy your 200 MPH hat the easy way

Heres the pic.

I have seen this picture circulated, but to my knowledge the source of this picture and the included pricing information has not been confirmed. The pricing structure makes sense, but details will likely not be released until EICMA.

Go friend Jeremy Toye on FB. He posted a dealer invoice pic showing 60k with MSRP of 65k. Then a quick blurb about taking one up to 210 mph today and being very stable.

I'm still holding out for the 2015 R1. My friend just ordered the 2015 S1000RR. I think the new R1 will be best bang for buck made in 2015.

Yes not that long ago. This h2 just perked my interest. I thought the street would be less. If it had been id have gone for it. 30k is too much.

Im probably not selling the panigale any time soon.

I have a dedicated track bike now too. Panigale just for street, fast enough.

I'm very interested to see what Yamaha comes up with as well. Based on their leaked photos, it seems they have a complete redesign in the works. This bike is rumored to be unveiled at EICMA.

All the pics are here:

NinjaH2R - Kawasaki

At 300 hp they will lead the market pretty much forever, unless someone else blows their engine. This happened when the Ninja first came out, they grabbed all their engineers from their different industries and came out with an industry leading power plant and bike.

if it really is 300hp a lot of people will be getting hurt or dying come spring...

the aesthetics are almost there...but not quite..

The track-only model will be 300 HP. It could weigh 580 lbs and still have a better power to weight ratio than the Superleggera; however, I'm guessing it will come in at under 450 lbs. Let that sink in.

Still no word on the H2's horsepower numbers, although it is certain it will be lower than the H2R's 300. The H2 could match the Superleggera's power to weight ratio with a 450 lb, 237 HP combination. For $30k (rumored), that would be an outstanding performance value, especially when considering the kind of power delivery this supercharged powerplant will offer.

I was expecting a boat like the zx14. But this bike appears to be trackable.

I wonder at 300hp how it would be on the track? I wonder what the traction control is like?

Lots of ????

that amount of power will make a few tire manufacturers very happy :D

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that it would be a uniquely brutal/ experience at the track and that the electronics would have to be VERY good for it to be even remotely useful. I certainly know how many expensive rear slicks I went through on my previous S1000RR, and it's no different on my Panigale.

My (not so rocket science) personal opinion is that this was a brilliant bit of advance product marketing that may or not pay dividends from a P&L perspective right away -- though it may in spades down the road.

Take the air out of the proverbial room for all of your competitors with a completely over the top product at a premium price point. Launch a more approachable (but still aspirational) derivative soon thereafter, then trickle the associated technology (i.e. charged induction, a new design aesthetic) down through the product range where it can have the most meaningful real world impact while simultaneously working with the associated governing bodies to make those technologies viable in competition. It provides the perception that they've leapfrogged the comp. even if the real world impact of having done so is minimal in the near term real world.

Come to think of it... this strategy sounds a lot like the relationship between the Superleggera and what I'm guessing will be the case for the forthcoming 1299R...

Just for context, the highest recorded top speed in the history of MotoGP is 217.2 MPH. I have a feeling H2R owners may be exceeding that.
