Stolen - bugger. Wish someone would come out with a bike thats really really hard to steal. My 19R has been in secure storage from day 1 just because I fear it might go walking ..... even then when I want a ride I get the bike out really early in the mornings and return late at night to minimize the chance of sightings :0 Paraniod ... yes :)

Raced a '10 s1000rr and it had it all. Thing was a rocket (197hp at the wheel with just a full system, pc5 and race fuel) and left a smile in my face. Hope my "S" gives me the same feeling.

Interested in hearing your thoughts after you get more time on your 1199s.

I'm flattered you see the gay within me:) Now come on over here and come see just how gay I can be my little huckleberry.

Hey sunshine

Why are you even in this debate ?

You don't even own a real Panigale. Just kidding.

I enjoyed my test ride on the beemer, but went for the look and style of the 1199

I'll post something whenever I get the S done and circulating. The BMW was an amazing bike but took a lot to get the chassis right, much like the 848/1198s. A lot of geometry changes (triples, link and pivots). The motor was crazy for the '10s as BMW put all their effort into the motor to nab 20% of the sport bike market. They did not disappoint. I parted that bike out and the motor, frame and Swingarm went to a friend who already races a '12 s1000.. His '12 had motor problems so he dropped my '10 motor in... Conclusion- it scared the .... out of him. Scary how much the 2 are different. A lot like the '05-'06 zx10-which I also raced.

some of you guys knows my Pani sucks, I will get fixed, I will not publish what I have done to get them to fix my fork problem, (only PM for those who need help) I will in time up grade it and so on, no I am not happy with it. BUT as good as the S1000rr is its F****** ugly, bit like have the best BJ from the worse chick out there, I sort of got the worse BJ from the best chick!
Maybe Aprillia but its still not a Ducati, I think maybe I would have been happier with a 1198sp.

That's the type of comparison I wanted to hear. In regards to the motor I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the 1199. It obviously doesn't have the revs but the superior torque and "spike" in the power band make the power delivery fairly vicious at full throttle in the first 3 gears, especially with lower gearing.

If you haven't already, look up posts by Jarelj. He's the GM of Ducati Omaha and raced an 1199 extensively. He's previously mentioned offsets and other "sweet numbers" for racing purposes.

That's right the sunshine rides the 899 ... buy the real one sunshine hahaha...ops just kidding:p

Ive been on both, and the ducati is for me. The S1000RR is a more rounded bike, more comfortable, smooth, and WAAAAAY easier to ride. but its hideous looking. Its like having a 11 second fox body mustang vs a McLaren P1. Both get the job done, but one looks waaay better doing it. Extreme comparison, but u get the idea.

The only problem I had with the OP

Is the use of subaru and "car guy" WTF kind of car guy can you be with one of those?

LOL ;)

Im surprised he didnt mention his lowered gsxr with a long swingarm :)

Ah man, are we going to have to start a new thread/flame-war on the merits of the WRX STI in terms of price:performance and/or it being an unsung hero?

Unless we are buying to competitively race for pink slips, any SS bike will give you a thrill from a purely objective standpoint. There is no shame in admitting we bought what we bought for emotional reasons and bragging rights that we simply own something that is to bikes what a Ferrari is to cars. Does anyone think Ferrari owners are stressing over the new Corvette Z06?

probably not but they sure as hell should the car is amazing

I just don't like nearly everything about the BMWs looks, the Panigale is just wet sex, to me.

That and I think all BMW owners are cocks, like who would buy a Beemer or a Merc when you could buy an Audi or a Porsche, just saying haha!

It's all personal preference  Like Lambo or Ferrari, personal taste.......however Ferrari FTW lol, the 458 is also pure wet sex :D

bmw vs audi are you serious. audi had 3 years on the old m 3 to build a competitive rs5 couldnt do it. audi is under powered and over priced compared to bmw. who in their right mind would take audi over bmw?

I know Jarel and the gang well. Happen to be lucky enough to be sponsored by Ducati Omaha this season. :)

lol.. if we can't even agree on bikes on a Panigale forum there is no way in hell we are going to agree on cars!

Amazing how everybody on this site constantly freaks the .... out when the S1krr is mentioned. I'm not sure just where OP got his quote from, but 9/10 times when the 1199 is brought up on the s1k forums, they DON'T talk .... about it.... Lets get off our high horse fellow Ducati owners.......

We argue BMW vs Ducati 24/7, but hasn't the R1 kicked the .... out of BOTH of these bikes, at about $10K cheaper? Yeah....

it has??? OEM form???

Funny i own a 2009 r1 and they make fun of her face too, but you are right the r1 does beat them both!! Lol

im confused...when did the R1 beat them both? MotoGP doesn't count, since those bikes are NOTHING like the factory models most of us ride...when did an R1 beat either of these bikes in any comparison?

the r1 out of the box is a terrible bike it is very underpowered and feels heavy thats why it looses all these tests. HOWEVER yes HOWEVER IN CAPS very slight work makes it a beast. as soon as you change the exhaust you save 25 lbs or so and gain almost 25 hp and you dont even have to change the full exhaust just the midpipe (removes the cats) and cans. get a flash to take off the restrictions and the R1 is a beast. yamaha sends them out to be eco friendly which means slow.

Moto GP uses the M1 not R1. Maybe he is talking about AMA. I know my R1 couldn't scratch either of these bikes in any category.
