As stated by someone earlier, #MM93 on a KTM or Desmo right now = championship.
One of Ducati's three grey haired wise men addressed MM going to Ducati basically saying he's too old and would command too high of a salary and they aren't interested.

Whether they consider it a worthwhile investment doesn’t automatically mean they don’t think he’d be faster than Bagnaia on the same bike - it means they think they can win while keeping him off a Ducati and while saving millions paying Bagnaia instead of Marquez.

And Marquez is competitive with Bagnaia (who’s on the best bike on the grid), while on a clearly inferior bike. The likelihood he’d be faster on the best bike is pretty good.

They'd be paying what, a $12+ million USD per year contract for an injury prone 30 year old who can't stop chucking bikes into gravel traps? He has a lot more experience than Bagnaia for sure. But, he misses a lot of races because of injury and doesn't finish a good number as well. They don't need MM, they have an army of cheaper 20 somethings with less injuries. Rossi's ranch is pumping out amazing talent. Marco is a rider to watch going forward for sure.

I'd also speculate that Ducati made an attempted to acquire MM years ago and were shot down, and now will take the Italian grudge to MM's grave and never sign him.

I’m inclined to agree with one caveat - he’s crashing the least consistent bike on the grid a lot. He might crash less frequently on the most consistent bike on the grid.

Hasn't bagnaia crashed out of 4 race's this year? I'm not getting into the rider bashing, i have too much respect for all of them, but you have to look at the facts, mir hardly ever crashed the Suzuki, in fact his consistency and lack of DNF helped him win a world championship, he is now crashing 3-4 times in a weekend, same as espargaro last year. So this tells me the honda isn't the best bike on the grid.
Would marc win on another bike? No way to know for sure unless he jumps but it would definitely make it more interesting

Really? Then why does MM have to follow and shadow Pecco every weekend during the qualifying sessions? If he’s so great then why can’t he figure out his own line.

Diplopia, he can't find his braking markers without a reference......

I would rather see Rins on a Duc than MM.

I don't think that's as big of a detractions as the anti-MM crowd thinks, if its even a thing.

Love or hate MM, MotoGP is more entertaining with him racing.
Right up until he wipes out the grid in lap 3.

The Honda suffers from a lack of front end feel, and the Michelin front isn't as grippy as the rear so push can be an issue for them, add Aero and hot bikes in front and I reckon they suffer more than the others, that said though, no one is particularly consistent because the competition is so fierce and everyone is riding so close to the limit all the time, there's no time to relax at all, very little time to fine tune set up and if there's varying weather the tyre choice is a guess or at best based on last years data, and who knows if Michelin bring the same tyres as last year??

Don't underestimate the pressure these guys are under either, Miller left Ducati because he was sick of 1 year deals and being strung along by Tardozzi, Bagnaia may be the golden boy at the moment but there's always someone wanting his spot and Tardozzi is a fickle boss, it wouldn't be much different at the other brands but lets face it, the Ducati is the best bike at the moment so the demand for those seats is red hot, I expected AM to be better at Gresini but his motor home tells me he gets paid a shitload, he better start doing better or he will be out on his ear, at least that will stop him telling big brother Marc all the gossip.....

As for wiping out the grid? How many times in the decade he's raced has this happened, qauterraro did similar thing in Jerez 🤷 i think it is just an unfortunate part of racing but I don't think he's as bad as people make out. I don't think any rider wants to do or see that type of incident but unfortunately it happens

I'd rather see Rins on the Gresini bike than either A Marquez or Di Gianantonio......

I was being flippant, but really, he might be one head knock away from permanent damage, i wonder if that plays on his mind at all......

Yep!!!
