I Just got a V2 as my first bike!

I learned on a grom at a basic rider course and a friend let me ride his R1 a few times a month for 3 months. So no experience at all. Wish me luck :D

Is this the best forum for V2's?

Happy to join the fam

Congrats! Ducati V2 as your first bike is awesome. I’ve had loads of bikes over many decades but this is my first Ducati and I get the feeling we are both going to be very happy with this bike. Enjoy.

Thanks brother! Congrats to you as well. I've heard all the comments about how Im crazy for getting this bike, but I'm a grown ... man. Ill be fine.

I was close to getting an S1000R, but when i saw this bike I fell in love.

imho, the handling and electronics make them super safe but idiots abound. speed keeps them up so watch the slow off camber stuff until you get your sea legs.

I'm keeping all the assists on until I get decent. I'm gonna be super careful. First thing on the list will be as much sliders as I can get and a new exhaust. its killing me waiting for this to be delivered. I had to get one out of state. I got a 2020 with 2000 miles.

Got a honda cbr500r as my first bike, put 163 miles on it and just got the white 2021 v2 a month ago lol.... Almost dropped the thing a couple of days ago... My advice to you is to practice and practice and practice.. Congrats and be very careful man!.

Thanks man and congrats on your white V2! I was 99% gonna pull the trigger on a BMW S1000R. I own an Stage 2 F10 M5 as my daily and i love bimmers, but i kept seeing pics of the V2 and then i started watching more and more youtube vids and thats all she wrote folks. I think in terms of streetbikes I think Im Ducati for life. :D

Practicing is all im gonna be doing before im comfortable to go balls deep on this thing. I was pretty nervous riding my buddys R1, but keeping it in the lowest power mode and all the assists wasnt bad.

Love the M5's. I was wavering between getting an M6 coupe or the V2. I think I would have been happy with either , but after my first ride today I think I made the right choice.

Cant go wrong with either of those. a tuned m5 or m6 is such a nasty freeway missile. I really wanna get an exhaust. I dont know if i should just drop the coin on the akra or just settle for the TOCE/SBK/ARROW slip on. I wanna see if SC Project is gonna come out with anything for the V2.

Question for the V2 owners. How easy is it for someone to steal this bike? What security devices do I need to use?

Nice first bike.
My first bike was a GSXR-750, I had only motocross experience.
You will be fine, use your head, have fun.
If you wanna go "balls deep" you should head to a track day....
DO IT - DO IT - DO IT

IF youve been driving for a while and youre not a teenager then youll be ok provided you take it nice and slow for a while. They will bite, and a V2 can bite hard if youre not careful. I am always sceptical when I hear about litrebikes as first bikes, there is so much to take in that you cant get from a book or vid.

Congratulations on your new bike! I started on a liter bike myself... had a few oh crap moments, but did fine overall. With nanny mode, it will make it even easier. I still recommend people start on a small bike, less for safety now that all of the electronics are there, more for learning. I learned more in one year of riding my little KTM 390 than I did 10 years of riding 600s and 1Ks.

Congrats on your new bike! I hope you will like the riding experience. My first motorcycle was a 250CC motorcycle.

It takes two guys and a minivan to steal your bike in 30 seconds.

Mines in the garage or screaming around SoCal roads

Try not leave it parked outside or out of your sight for any reason.

S1000 is a great bike but there are a few reasons I feel like they’re not worth the $$$ if the duc is in reach, so you made the right choice. Congrats!

its true, try not to leave it out of site cause it will disappear
Also try not to drop it or it will be totaled

Plan for new tyres & an oil change ever 2,000 miles
Brake fluids ever 1,000 and check the bolts
Lube the chain after every other ride

and learn to get the bugs off by using a bucket of steaming hot water and a rag, just place it on the bike for a few seconds and wipe

also pay attention to where the clutch grabs, if it starts getting closer to the bar, you can bleed the air out using a 11mm on the bleeder on the clutch lever

now.. you gotta get a clear clutch cover with protector and beauty pieces!

Im in my early 30's and yes I will take it slow for a while. Its an insane first bike for sure. I ordered it out of state and getting shipped by Haul Bikes. Its gonna be three more weeks until it arrives. The wait is killing me!

Damn, I want to ride it work sometimes. Theres cameras in the parking lot and theres usually always people out there. Do you guys ever go to the store for like 30 minutes and leave it parked outside somewhere? Im super paranoid now lol. When im at home itll be in my garage for sure.

Im gonna do Clear clutch cover and a bunch of carbon fiber right away. Im most likely gonna do full akrapovic within the first month.
