Or post #35?

yes, sorry, post #35 as well.

Or a whole forum full of experienced users across the internet.

Or literally decades of real world experience with the equipment, like myself. Got my first Cincinnati Microwave Escort in 1986, got my first V1 probably around 1999.

not trying to pick a fight with the officer, but his comments simply reminded me of the same naysayers i've heard for years, folks who see my equipment and then proceed to tell me (us) about it's usefulness.

it's rather "strange" the hear it from an officer i guess.

I had a Fuzzbuster before that, circa 1978! It worked, but tons of false signals.

Can you show a picture please with the jammer

This is the latest revision of the 2-unit Blinder Laser Jammer you want:

Blinder HP-905 Dual Laser Defense System - Laser Jammers at Radar Busters

Mine is the Blinder M27, I had the M20 before that. Looks like they've changed the model designation, now they are at the HP series.

They offer higher models, but the only difference is how many laser jammer modules you need. The 2 unit one is that link and is great for a motorcycle.

Have you ever gotten pulled over in spite of all of the gear?
Just the eye in the sky... A competent attorney can easily dismiss these because of the human error factor I outlined.

And when you pull over, immediately take your gloves off and lay on top of your radar detector. The LEO won't see it then, and won't check the box called SMD (Speed Measuring Device) on your ticket which helps you in court.

One officer saw the laser jammers and asked what the black boxes were for. I said they make the deer run away. He thought that was a great addition to the bike.

I'm always nice and respectful. It makes a difference in how they write the ticket, and the LEO is just doing their job. Don't take anything out on them, it's not worth it.

Duc - great comments all around and good equipment. We have similar approaches or our bikes and cars in that I want to have the maximum options available as it's too easy to speed on the bike and the other toys. I must say the Escort system as already paid for itself and I am enjoying riding the bike a lot more.

In terms of LEO my brother died on active duty and I spent a lot of time with his colleagues and they are generally good guys.

It also helps (in life) to have a good attitude, show some respect and remember why we bought these beasts..........to ride!

I know that isn't what it was for of course... but speaking on the subject, has anyone mounted a deer whistle? One of the few things I fear at night. I am always driving extra slow at night on the bike if I am on backroads. I usually try to avoid them altogether and hit the highway.

A little while back I hit "something" going down the highway that had some fair size to it... not sure what it was. I was riding alone at night and this stretch of highway had the wire and post setup in the median... I passed a cop and my V1 had picked him up, but the signature wasn't going away, my signal strength showed fairly strong and from the rear, indicating he might be following me, but there were no flashing lights. I turned around for a while looking back because there was no one on the highway to worry about, as I am doing so I ran over something. Whatever it was it broke my belly/fan cover but nothing else. I have a new one I am going to get installed the same time I take it in for the heat shield upgrade and tire change. But it wasn't that big of a deal ($20) but I still wonder what I hit that caused it to clear the whole front of the bike and only hit that piece sticking out. Might have been just a large bump.

If you look under your bike where the black piece that sticks out further than the rest of the bike is, that's all it hit, it cracked right there. nothing else was damaged. I will take some photos of it if anyone wants to see. Just curious if anyone has mounted an animal whistle.

I added one to my Porsche after taking out a deer near our place in WI. The dealer/body shop referred to me as the "Deer Hunter" after that. Thank goodness it went under, but the engine compartment smelled bad for a year. They swer by them up there, but you really never know if it's working.

Backpack Radar Setup

Here is my setup. I did it a little differently than most people would mount it.

The main unit is on my shoulder in a camera case and the concealed display is below my dash. I bought a cigarette lighter/battery tender adapter (see image) which hooks in below my ankle. Runs from there to my backpack (where I can plug in anything that will of course plug into a cigarette lighter). Inside that the V1 power plug cigarette lighter attaches to that, one cable goes to the main unit on my shoulder, the other runs up to the concealed display. I can hear it on my shoulder through town but down the highway it is hard to hear, need to find some way so that I can hear and maybe even see it in my helmet. Otherwise, it is easy to see because it is right where my dash is.

The wire setup that day was a little sloppy, usually it is tucked into the inside of my leg. The extra stick pad is so that I can flip the concealed display in case the sun beams down on it and I can't see it, so I just flip it so it faces me instead of up.

nice rig and good way to conceal the V1...just have to come up with a cleaner wiring system

BTW... all of that speeding protection and you're sporting trainers, sweat pants and a hoody? C'mon E357....gotta be safer than that...

I posted this on anther thread. For the iPhone alone, I got a stem mount, added a RAM bracket, than atached the iPhone bracket.

Can you post a link to what you use to power your iphone (or charge) whilst connected to your bikes?

Thanks bro!

I haven't needed to charge them whilst riding, but I have the equipment to do that. Try whitehorsegear.com, expensive, but they have all the options available. I have 2 ways I can use the USB iPhone wire:

I have a battery tender-type-plug to female cigarette adapter, plus a small cigarette adapter with USBs:

Battery Tender 081-0069-8 Female Cigarette Adaptor for Quick Disconnect : Amazon.com : Automotive

Amazon.com: iFlash® Dual USB Car Lighter Charger Adapter with 10w (fast) Heavy Duty Ouput for Apple: iPhone 4 4S 3GS 3G, iPod, iPod Touch, The New iPad iPad2; Most Android Phones: Motorola Triumph, Verizon Droid Razr, X2, Bionic / Samsung Galaxy Nexu

My Cobra power cord has a USB built into its male cigarette adapter plug.

yet more useful information! I have a tender plug on my bike to so this will make it easy to plug into, thanks for the info! I also got your MotoReva center base ordered, $107 for the base with a gopro adapter. I also have the ram for my iphone 5 with a small arm so i can swap between the 2 devices as well. Not much real estate on the dash, i really like your set up trauma but it may be a little too busy for me personally. I figure i can use my iphone for Nav, i just need 2 spots to use the iphone and my go pro. Worst case i can use gopro on the suction cup..... Which was another chunky expense. 399 for camera. 50$ in different mounts, 50 for the batter pack and 30 for the sim. This bitch better be fantastic!!!

ALSO does anyone know if this will work on our 1199's and still have enough clearance for turns? http://www.amazon.com/Mounts-Brake-Clutch-Clamp-Mount/dp/B000WJA5F4/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1359493691&sr=1-4

I got the RAM attachment if you look, so I can have both the iPhone and GoPro at the same time.

That's not sweat pants and a hoodie. That's my rain gear. Underneath is my sweat pants and pants, then hoodie, riding jacket. That black outfit is all rain gear over my clothing and gear.

Different from other electronics, cell phones have become the necessity of every one's daily life. If someone still has no idea of mobile phones, you must say that "Out!" of course except the senior citizens. To be honest, cell phones really bring us lots of benefits. We use it for talking, sending and playing. With it, our life can be modern one, without it, we will be live in the Mars, you know, know nothing about each other. But do cell phones have no disadvantages? Of course not, more and more people are using cell phones at the cost of other interests. Noises are everywhere, especially the one of mobile phones. What should we do, throw them away? It is a stupid behavior. Have you ever heard cell phone signal booster? It is a new kind of device to solve this problem, effective in blocking the signals of your cell phone and its nearby base station. one side, the mobile phone really benefits us a lot, but another side we also benefit from its noises for a long time, so the fight between the cell phone and cell phone jammer 3g 4g has been a hot topic in society now. Which side you stand by, jamming or not, it depends on you.

LI installation

So I've installed the LI gear on the bike. The main ECU is under the seat, and will be connected to a Bluetooth transmitter that will also connect to the V1 mounted on the bars.

The front detector unit sits on the dash, just with simple double sided tape to keep it in place. For the rear unit I put together a bracket that is attached to the reflector using Velcro ( still not entirely convinced this is the safest way so the unit also has a cable tie should it swing lose)

The front unit should work well there, and be protected by the screen, even in light rain. I'm a bit more worried about the rear unit getting damaged by stone chips etc but other than that it should be perfectly placed. Haven't tested any of this, waiting for the BT unit to arrive.

Sorry about the quality of the pics.

You should apologize, jeeze, take some better pics :) Is this the kit you installed, and whats the Bluetiooth for/where? This attempts to jam laser, crrect, not radar?

Laser Interceptor LI Dual + Valentine 1 Radar/Laser Detector/Jammer

:) yes that's the combo.

The Bluetooth transmitter (http://www.senabluetooth.com/downloads/datasheet/Datasheet_Sena_SM10.pdf hooks up to both the V1 and LI and this allows me to hear the audio alerts even with earplugs in using this helmet unit Sena Bluetooth. Both should be here later in the week. I like the fact that the helmet unit is small and light.

One of your earlier posts in the HUD thread plus a couple of other user comments got me thinking - I can now hear the alerts and don't have to be as concerned about visual alerts and HUD although still going to test the various products I ordered.

Should be able to test it all at the weekend.
