How does this clutch disengaged signaling switch cause shutdown? Isn't it used to tell that the clutch is disengaged to start the bike?

Yeah.. I was asking the same thing to my dealer and that's what I was told.. its nothing to do with the actual disengaging of the clutch with the engine

Apprently my R has stalled on me twice but its happened only in 2nd gear in very slow traffic.. I don't remember how hot the bike was but the engine cut off on me while I had the clutch completely pulled in and am not giving any gas (just idling)..

It has never happened on 1st or neutral so I am not sure whats up.. I asked them about the charcoal canister and they checked out the bike and it was all fine when I gave it in for first service.

My R stalled at least a dozen times throughout the Summer.

I bent the metal tab on the microswitch ever so slightly for earlier contact.

No stalling over the past 700 miles now.

Charcoal Canister is still on the bike.

Mine was stalling lots too (approx. 8 times) since I picked up the bike 500 miles ago. Bent the microswitch and only (still) stalled just once in the last 200 miles. Perhaps I need to bend it a little more...

Mine has stalled at least 3 times since I picked it up and I only have about 100 miles.. I'm used to such behavior with my Supra (with my engineering and not Supras fault :)) but was very surprised this brand new bike would do that...

....they just stall....the nature of fueling, or lack there-of and 2 huge pistons trying to make things work in the world of high performance

-- not to worry, it has been a Ducati trait since, at the very least, days of the 916 forward.....

-- i was curious to see if the aftermarket air filter (MRW?) i installed helped, but in fact it did not...i'm feeling i should get my stock air filter back, although i guess this new one is less restrictive...which "should be" a good thing...

-- does anyone have any input on wether a power commander would help with the fueling (stumble/stutter) in the 3 to 5000 rpm range.....

It has a tendency to stall with fueling - especially after its being run hard.. For those have taken it to the track, you'll know. Once you come off the track and riding back to your pit at 2nd or whatever, it has a high tendency to stall (if you're still rolling, just blip the clutch and it'll start right back up). . So obviously carrying this to the street, if you're riding hot and perhaps hard, it may stall when the load is no longer present.

Since the aluminum tab adjustment, mine stalls once every blue moon while in neutral warming up...which I find to be very strange. I will address this to the dealer upon my next visit.

The other times I have stalled while coming to a stop have been because I overfilled the tank, by that I don't mean brining the fuel level to the cusp of the lip, rather to the base of the neck of the fuel tank. Removal of the carbon canister will be the fix for this particular part of the problem.

I had alot of stalling on my 13 R also.
Bike is 90% track, where stalling is a non issue, but on the street it was horrendous.

I had motowheels perform a REXXER reflash for the bike with the full termi exhaust and MWR filter. It is a different machine! both on track and street, mor linear midrange, better smoother more stable idle, no stalling, no popping, jsut smooth, linear power, no downside.

you guys sure your stalling is not just due to the lighter flywheel? Part of the purpose of the R is to race and it's not a street model. A heavier flywheel like those found in the base and S models may not spin up as quickly as the R model, but it's better for the street at slow speeds. Mine has not stalled on me once and I have an S model.

hey they want you to buy a race bike but not be responsible for when an engine blows.....kinda lame in my opinion.

Market the baddest fastest thing around but then not stand behind your product when it is used as it was supposed to be. I can see the superleggera following suit.

I still love my duc, but they should warranty a race bike or at least offer some kind of insurance or something for issues that are not crash related.

Yeah...It does throw into question what this bike is made to do...........

My R stalled sort of frequently when hot with the stock exhaust. Since the Termi exhaust, I don't think it's ever stalled.

My s stalled couple times when I first got it spoke to dealer he said he had couple people complain about this and they figured what was happening was at low rpms if your foot put enough pressure on shifter the DQS would kick in and cause engine to stall once I recognized this bike has never stalled since 3800 miles no stalling....

My R stalls every so often when coming up to a stop. I go through the gears, pull the clutch in as I near the stop sign, then It stalls. Caused by the lighter flywheel? I'll check the micro switch tab.

I do have an Akro exhaust and thinner head gasket so I probably have to get it flashed to run well (had full termis before and I also stalled a couple of times) and maybe get rid of this embarrassing stall issue.

Can this be caused if the gas tank vent hoses are crossed?

I never had this stalling issue on my tricolore.

What do you guys think?
