RedLine Under Tail Exhaust

Alright, so I received everything last night and proceeded to get to work. The parts all came in a nice plastic tote and packaged really well. I pulled out the belly pan and the heat shield and they are really nicely done pieces of carbon.

I really like their attention to detail reinforcing the bolt holes with kevlar.

I also received these new heel guards. I'm not a fan of the red-dyed kevlar but I give them props for having a go at it.

The finish on all of the composite parts is nice. There is plenty of clear coat. Overall, very good workmanship.

There was also a bag of bolts and a packing slip. That was it. No instructions but it looked simple enough so I went for it.

What's interesting is that the carbon heatshield is the structural support of the exhaust. The install was a little bit of a pain because you have to bolt in the heat shield before putting the under-seat y-pipe on because there is no access to the bolts once the piping is in place. With some WD-40 and elbow grease, I got the pipes in and mounted to the heat shield. Hole locations on the heat shield with respect to the pipes were great, but the heat shield STILL interferes with the rear shock!

This is obviously a huge problem.

Lesser problems: the heel guards interfere on both sides.

At this point, I guess I need to decide what I am going to do about the shock interference. I'm thinking I'll dremmel out that area on the heat shield.

I've had the Redline on mine for a month+ now. Dropped 10lbs. over the stock system and jumped 10hp before a tune. It's running pretty rich right now.

Fitment issues with the rear brake and the shock but doesn't touch/rub enough to worry about. I did just receive the additional carbon fiber parts from Redline and the undertail heat shield looks like it's going to be a problem. Once I get the new carbon undertail and belly pan on I'll post more photos.

Swapped the wheels just last week too.

Still trying to get a vid up of it idling.

Badabing, have you done some hard riding with the clearance to the shock being that tight? I worry about it rubbing on rebound.

I figured I'd start a thread here just for the RedLine Exhaust since an offshoot discussion started in the AR under tail thread, and redline fits 1299 and 1199.

I ordered this https://www.redline-moto.com/. It is expected to be delivered in November.

I will try to get a before and after dyno runs on the same dyno, with similar weather conditions. I currently have the Full Termi tuned with tuneboy version 6.

I almost went for the Termi undertail but I think it is a bit close to the rear bodywork for my liking, and it's ~3300USD without import tax for stainless headers. Redline is based in the US.

I don't do track riding so db is not a big issue, anything has to be quieter than those Termis thundering off the ground.

So Far with RedLine all my emails have been responded to within a few hours.

I did a little (very little) digging. It looks like one of the founders/owners of Redline is CEO of a manufacturing firm with multi-national facilities that design and manufacture titanium parts for another industry. It seems they have 60 some patents for their products.

It was probably a startup out of need for a good US based company that makes exhaust for exotics and with a few engineers from the other company that raced they decided to try their hand at exhaust systems. Just speculating on this part though.

I'll hopefully be home when it arrives and give ya'll install pics in a reasonable amount of time.

I find that system repulsive

That looks mighty hot near the shock reservoir

Haven't seen any rubbing on rebound or degradation in performance yet but also haven't been on the track so right now it's fine. We'll see if issues pop up as I get more time on the bike.

New heatshild and bellypan installed. The new heat shield/rear mount took care of most of my interference issues. I also loosened the blue lock nut on the rear shock and twisted the reservoir as for outboard as it would go. Belly pan fits good and is flat on the bottom, not bulging like the first renderings. You have to trim the rad fan in the back to make it fit, if you are still running a fan.

I put everything back on except the belly pan and took it for a spin. I did a sprint filter and brentune while she was apart. Holy crap! From a power delivery standpoint it's a completely different bike. The shock doesn't seem to be rubbing at all from my spirited street ride so I'm happy about that. The right heel guard is rubbing a bit on the heat shield but I'm not worried about it. The noise is incredible. Riding out of my neighborhood I actually thought it might be too loud, but once on the road, it sounds amazing. The rear header pipe is already turning a nice shade of blue.

So far, I'm pretty stoked. I'll mess with the belly pan this weekend and try to post some photos of the finished product as well as a clip of it running.

Can you Post up a pic of the dyno run where you found out it gained 10 HP ?
The rear shock definately hits the heat shield while your on the track riding aggressively and not just barely.

I've just gotten the additional carbon heat shield and bellypan and am going to try moving the shock forward like RPM did when I'm in there remounting stuff. Dont mind using the dremmel on the heat shield if needed as well.

Same dyno a couple months apart.

8.7hp increase but I also added a rapidbike evo with the exhaust and supposedly it needs a few hundred miles to dial in so it was probably hurting the instead of helping at that point. I mentioned earlier that it's running rich and needs a solid tune but im not sure if Rapidbike is the way I'll go in the end. Brentune is tempting. I'm honestly just hoping to get it over 200 at the wheel.

What's the deal with the "after" chart af

I'm pretty tempted to jump on their next batch of preorders. I really like what I've seen and read of this system so far. I just need to sell my Termis first.

As has been said dozens of times before, dyno peak readings are purely subjective on the day. I had 4 hp difference on two days, same dyno, with no changes to the bike at all.

As far as breaking 200 goes, my mate's 1299 made 207 with a tune and a home modified termi underbelly system.
He has his own dyno, so the time to sort the fuelling to perfection costs him his time only. My 16 R only peaked at 193 on the same dyno on its best day.

As stated above we are starting another round of pre-orders, these will be going out the same time all of our carbon parts go out. We know the Carbon has taken some time and we really appreciate the patience, these parts are lookin good though. This round of Pre-orders will include the carbon hat and bellypan, and we have reworked the y-pipe to resole some rubbing issues a few guys were having.

Here is a link to the store for you guys to check out https://www.redline-moto.com/product-p/superleggera-exhaust.htm

Feel free to email us with any questions at [email protected]

The round of shameless spamming on this forum really upsets me that I ever gave this company any of my money.

Interestingly they have added this to their website now.
