RedLine Under Tail Exhaust

Im not impressed with how this rolled out either because the system itself looked really nice. Now im not defending the redline guys but you got the heavy discount to be sort of a guinea pig right? If thats the case then youve gotta expect some fitment issues no?

Yep. Absolutely I expected some potential fitment issues. What I didn't expect was to receive random bolts and exhaust springs three weeks after receiving my order, or a jacked up mounting scheme for the cans, or to be sitting waiting for them to finish the design that was supposed to be done in November. Meanwhile, I get more info about this system on this forum than the people I bought it from.

Go through face book to Phil Smith, or Storm Performance Fabrications. You wont be disappointed, the fit is 100% perfect, the headers are inconel which is a step up from titanium and wont crack, Ive had two other bikes with titanium systems and both have cracked. I ran it without rapid bike for 2 days because I had loom issues, the bike ran perfectly no flat spots , but was risking it being lean with the std ECU. But this supports the design flow of the system. I havent run it on the dyno so cant put numbers up. I would be able to compare it to other bikes i have had on the same dyno.

FWIW, inconel is stronger (especially when hot) but is much higher density so typically the wall thicknesses are dropped down to be very thin to make the weight make sense. Inconel systems can crack too (just ask Austin Racing). At the end of the day, exhaust system failure comes down to engineering design and craftsmanship.

That Storm system is looking better and better as I keep walking by my torn down bike in my basement. Thanks for posting the pics.

Yeah, I originally was going to go Redline, then compared theirs to Storm, and went Storm even though they were a bit more expensive . A few things swayed me even though the Redline looked more "SL".
Storm didnt ask for any money upfront .
The headers were equal length
They had documented R&D in BSB
They had dyno curves, numbers are just numbers, but at least there was development work done on a dyno.
Inconel, thought that was a selling point ?
Phil was a really genuine guy, and kept me updated even when the postage was late . He still is in contact moaning about the ...... English winter !

I'm so bummed about how all this turned out. Now I'm getting the fear as I'm finally approaching re-assembly and have no idea what to think. I'm running Bitubo suspension now, and did luck out big time as the cartridge is minuscule compared to the Ohlins. But in 2 months this thing is supposed to be on display at GP, and I've got the fear.

Yet to see a decent picture of this system in daylight or a video of it running on an end customers bike.

Installed it about a week ago, my bikes on the dyno at boulder motorsports as im typing getting maps written etc. and finishing off some of the programming for my marelli kit. Should be getting a phone call from Brian at the end of the day letting me know all the numbers...crossing my fingers that it will perform as expected.Fitment issues...my bike is track only it fits very close to the fairing by my right rear set really don't care about that ill put some heat tape on the inside of the fairing , one of the only issues was how close the heat guard on the left side of the system came to my shock, i still will have a few spots to adjust tinker with and get it dialed in when i get the bike back. Im probably going to ditch the adjustable rods that attach the cans to the bottom of the sub frame and make up my own solid ones.. i just don't trust em. And sorry for my crappy video skills.

Forgot to say it’s a 2014 1199r

Figured I would forward this information to educate people that are considering getting this system. Redline has started a newsletter in order to keep its customers and others that are interested informed of the progress they are making. Considering the circumstances I think this is a really good idea.

We have decided to start a newsletter to keep our customers, as well as anyone who signs to the newsletter, up to date with anything including: new products, updates on preorders, new designs, or product ideas from you guys.

This week we have began production of the carbon belly pans and heat shields, we are expecting to have our first production run and all of our preorder customers’ orders fulfilled by the end of march. All customers will receive their carbon parts in the order in which we received the orders. All customers will be receiving a carbon heat shield at no extra charge. All preorder customers will be receiving a carbon belly pan as well. This is our top priority and has experienced delays due to design issues, but we have corrected the problems and we are set on the dates mentioned previously. We are still discussing pricing on the carbon belly pan but we are looking at the $500 range.

Further releases are expected for the end of Q1 and early Q2 including: tire warmers, R6 exhaust, bar ends, folding clip-ons, and titanium cross drilled bolts. All of these parts will be listed on the site upon release. If you have any questions or concerns please email us at [email protected].

So here is my review of the redline exhaust I purchased.I was very skeptical of the numbers redline was claiming I still wanted to support a small company and was crossing my fingers wanting to believe Zach at redline that this will take the midrange dip in power on a panigale away completely... 40% better than akra off the shelf system.I spoke with Zach before I ordered the system for a while... I wanted to make sure that he was confident with his product.Which he was to an extent.I bought this system because I wanted to support a smaller company neglecting the advice from Brian at boulder motorsports.. one of the authorities on Ducati’s in the us saying there was really only three exhausts that work with this bike none of which are available to the public... I was curious if this exhaust could really do what they are saying it does.So I took a Risk and purchased the redline exhaust under a bit of negotiation with Zach that he would refund me if it did not meet expectations. So I left the bike with Brian to do a custom tune and build a map for this exhaust from scratch. I went in to pick the bike up and asked so how did it go.I could tell right off the bat that i wasn’t going to get the answer I wanted. It still has a major drop in power from 6 to 8.When we were comparing the dyno results to an off the shelf akra it was almost as good but still definately worse in some parts. The reason that Brian was able to get it to perform almost as well as the akra is because the adjustability of my Marelli sbk kit. With stock electronics it will most likely not even be a comparison to an off the shelf akra.I basically said alright I’m hoping that it will be different on the track.I took it out the next day understanding that Zach told me if I use it in the track he wouldn’t refund me.I had just paid Brian to do a complete custom map....not cheap.I lt was definately better than my termis but still had that dip in the rpm range.I was hoping that a company would be able to back up their claims .This exhaust did not perform even close to what they are claiming. With oem electronics it definately would not be. Another company making claims about their product which aren’t true.

It would be thought to beat an akra system, seeing as they spend way more money probably on R & D then any other performs exhaust. Sounds good tho!

Yea that is what I thought of when I was buying it I hope it does beat it,but I was crossing my fingers that the performance gains they were claiming were real. Unfortunately they weren't, btw anybody wants my system Pm me.

Seems to me like they thought by sticking a straight-through pipe on the Pani it would somehow be better...... sadly that's not how modern machines work

On the WSBK bikes there looks to be a valve on the pipe going to the left can . Wonder if it closes at certain rpm to boost torque ?

The diameter of the left pipe output is also larger than the right pipe. I'm thinking the valve adjusts back pressure of the system depending on the RPM.

Well, it's April. Did anyone receive anything from Redline yet?

I have been emailing back and forth with Redline. I was the fourth preorder and my parts should be shipping today. Once I receive them, I'll be sure to post up photos.

With regards to the power output compared to Akra, I'm really not all that worried about it. My 1299S with a tune makes more than enough power for a street bike. For me, the pipes look good, there is a weight benefit, and I'm sure they flow better than stock. I just hope they are robust enough and don't fail over thousands of miles on the road.

Supposedly the final everything was coming yesterday but still haven't seen it. I'm at a point where this build, will probably be the greatest of my life. No expense spared is the understatement of the year. Having a tough time seeing her as a guinea pig, not sure how I will proceed, but I kept my options open.

NESBA, I've been following your build on IG and it is nothing short of amazing. I'm definitely stoked to see the finished product. Still aiming to display at COTA next weekend?

THANK YOU! I genuinely wish, it just didn't happen. Missing too many bits still, and time ran up already as I'm in Virginia so she'd already be on the road. Everything with COTA changed so far, Bellissimoto isn't even a sponsoring vendor anymore.

That said, I have my dream spec 1098 traveling there now, she's absolutely wicked beyond belief. Sad about the FE though, not even for me it's really cool getting people all excited. The magnesium swing arm is great for that too [emoji23]
