RedLine Under Tail Exhaust

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

The only issue I have encountered so far is the bung for the factory O2 sensor was too low so I had to extend my harness. I haven't put the fairings back on so I can't comment on that clearance.

I'm really not a fan of the mounting system under the tail. My pipe comes pretty close to the allen bolts so I can't tighten them with the pipe in place. This makes it a real PITA. There really is no reason for that much adjustability there other than to account for loose tolerances on the pipes.

All these observations and no pictures.

You are just going to have to take my word for the O2 sensor. I tried routing the harness a few different ways through the subframe and it just wouldn't go. I didn't stop to take a photo. I just fixed it. Soldering four wires twice just isn't that big of a deal.

This is the only photo that I have but it's difficult to see the clearance between the pipe and the mounting bolts below the subframe. I'll take a better photo the next time I get a chance.

Sorry I think you maybe got the wrong impression. I wasn't demanding a picture of the issues you'd had or was singling you out for supplying images. I was merely asking those of you that had fitted the system for more overall images of the completed installation. Am also interested in seeing the bellypan as this is one aspect that would be a deal breaker for me as I would not want to run the system without it. and their first incarnation was at best, hideously disproportionate.

You'll be stoked then, as I was. The heat shield they're finishing up does away with them apparently.

Well... misplaced my subframe bolts....someone ask me for help while I was working. I just happened to have those bolts in my hand and set them down somewhere.:mad:

It looks like I can run the rear o2 down the same path as the gear sensor and not have to cut and splice. We'll see.

No issues yet on mine.

The bottom or the top? I might be able to help.

If you are running the factory O2 sensors the rear O2 wiring can be run down the same path as the gear indicator and it reaches the connector with plenty of slack. Just bring the connector in the bottom of the electronic s housing by the coil, instead of the top.

Has anyone successfully installed one of these on a Final Edition? I had to send mine back because it didn't fit. The front cylinder pipe ran too close to the cutout on the lower right fairing and melted it.

There were other fitment issues as well. One of the springs interferes with the rear brake pedal and the left tail pipe interferes with the shock reservoir.

I wish this thing was made to reuse the stock heat shield / tailpipe mount instead of the cheesy turnbuckles supplied.

Sound and performance were awesome but I couldn't get past the fitment issues. Not on a $40K bike.

Mine is on and having the same fairing fitment issues. No issue with the spring interfering with the rear brake or tailpipe & shock reservoir though. Probably going to trim the fairing a bit.

Oooooh man. I'm finally about to get back to it, this sounds too familiar. Why I thought she was a good idea, came with a good one. Lol. Right.

NESBA,
Does this mean we will have to purchase a supplemental heat shield? Can you provide some more intel on this? Should I hold off on loctite-ing these .......s in?

I just received a bag of bolts and springs in the mail from Redline. I'm not sure what that is about.

No not purchase, According to the email from red line when the heat shield is done they will ship it to us, and it will replace the 2 struts under the tail currently.

"Hey Tom,

Sorry not sure if we got to answering your question.

The brackets are also a part of the delivery, which are interim brackets for the exhaust. They can be used indefinitely, but we will be providing the heat shield, which will replace the brackets, to you free of charge late dec/early jan.

The belly pan will be most likely January, but that will be a separate charge (again we will be offering a significant discount for the pre-order folks).

In the meantime, there will be an open space where the belly pan will go.

Hopefully that clarifies your questions, but please let us know if you have any more!

Thank you again.

RL"

and this is about the extra bolts and things.

"A couple systems had issues with the size of the chimney nuts, so we supplied smaller ones in case. The bolts are for mounting brackets again not everyone may need them. " From redline about the extra bolts and stuff

Just took it out to get some fuel and check for rattles etc... I'm going to reinstall my wide bands and go do some logging and adjusting.

I want to see what this heat shield looks like when they send them out this month.

What are you using to adjust the fuelling once you get the data?

Tuneboy, I've used the auto function while riding to do my termi initially, but I just like using the logging method better, using the tunboy program to create a data file while I ride then process it afterwards and apply changes.

Using the iPhone app to log?

No, I just connect wireless to the module and stick my laptop in a vented back pack. It's been on my list to stop by a pawnshop and pickup an iPod touch or old iPhone for this,
