RedLine Under Tail Exhaust

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Finally got home long enough to check out my exhaust. Everything looks top notch. It even had a full complement of hardware with each type of bolt/nut separated in bags and labeled. Leaving again tomorrow so no install just yet.

I will keep posting all I can under Agents of Italia on IG, I'm jammed up on time momentarily but hopefully doing more later tonight. Space heaters are all running full blast [emoji23]

Curious as to how different you think this will be compared to the stock exhaust and how it won't torch your bike? Is it that different dimensions wise?

Quick question:

What is the diameter on the tubing and what thickness/gauge are they using? I've seen a few of the akra headers crack/break and just curious.

It's night and day from the metallurgy up. My Akra burned a bunch up when it kicked a "service plug" while I was riding. I cannot WAIT to hear her!IMG_1622.JPGIMG_1621.JPG

That was actually where our conversation began! These guys are Us, and this system was developed during this race season, resulting in podium finishes too! So they've experienced our horror and felt our pain. From the very beginning it's been reinforced that any problems, phone call away. I will get an answer straight from them for you so I don't quote anything wrong, but also definitely encourage anyone with curiosity to contact them directly too.

Looks like you are on the home stretch, NESBA! Looks awesome so far. I have been swamped with work and travelling but I'm hoping to get some wrench time on it this weekend.

This is all they would tell me, all I can say is I tried [emoji23]

"Pipes are 63mm transitioning to 70m, then necking down to 53 exit at the mufflers.

We managed and equal distribution of length approximating 60cm for each cylinder run to the first y-pipe.

We increased the diameter over the Akra system, but then necked it again to smooth out the bottom curve. Wide open throttle at max RPM requires less back pressure."

Also it's not even about power for me. My beloved 1299 cc Ducati aka "The Aggressive Vespa" sounds like exactly that. I've almost been hit by so many cars it's sick, deer just stand there, and as much as I love my motor? I'd love to hear an exhaust note over the valve train. They welded the Akra up so we'd have to buy the entire thing, or stay Euro4 which is TRASH. I love, my twin Superbike sound. We all do. They freakin took it away. No more! My Duc must Rumble [emoji1307]

Same here, barely sleeping right now. I hope you do! I highly recommend Sea Foam Deep Creep spray to get the old one apart, nothing else did much including heat and wd40 did. The tiny bolt under the front V is like a practical joke, hex driver bit fiddled in and needle nose gets her. Let me know if i can help in any way

Down to oem bits and such, fresh gaskets and all. Really impressed. Let me know if I can help with any info once you get time [emoji1308]

My pleasure! It's rather amazing in an hour or less they came back with that. Really is.

If I end up keeping the 1299, this exhaust will likely be going on it, but need to somehow come to terms with the $$ tag for the new V4 akra I will likely need come Feb... 1st world problems.

Great to see these systems finally came to fruition! The Redline team booked some dyno time at our shop this past summer to test one of the systems on their 1199R.

Very curious to see what kind of power they're making when properly tuned.

Wow, awesome. Thanks for going out of your way to get the additional deets. Much appreciated! [emoji106][emoji106]

TBH, I was a little concerned with using grade 1 titanium. It's the softest grade but is good for ductility and weldability, which makes sense why they used it. I just hope it has the fatigue strength to hold up over a long period of time.

Racing is a great durability test, but I don't plan on tracking mine, which means many more miles than a track bike. More miles = more cycles = fatigue. Time will tell.

I can definitely see that. Grade 2 can be a bit too hard and crack welds according to some too, but as I type that I feel "here" being the point Wars can begin [emoji38] I was going to track her still, but now I'm building my ultimate FE and flying to Vegas to buy something else. A pure freaking demon [emoji1308][emoji16][emoji1308]
