RedLine Under Tail Exhaust

Nesba53, I can inderstand your frustration given the expense of your bike and the apathy Ducati appear to be showing you in dealing with your problem. However ditching your exhaust seems somewhat radical (though the Redline system is nice)

Why did you not simply drill and lockwire a bung into the front header pipe so it can no longer come loose, remove the charcoal canister, it's mounting bracket and associated drain pipe and toss them in the trash (you dont need that garbage anyway and the bike runs better without it)? Additionally, could you not insist (given your photo evidence) ducati supply you with a new fuel drain pipe and lower fairing which you can fit yourself in a matter of minutes?

I appreciate your stance and the "why should I deal with it" take on it, but if I was beating my head against a brick wall, demanding two replacement parts, ditching the charcoal canister and five mins with a drill and some lockwire would be my preferred option. I'd at least be mobile but could still direct my frustration at Ducati NA by way of a detailed email citing that you will pass this account of your treatment onto Bologna directly and the motorcycle press, or better still a polite but negative acccount of your story, on their social media feeds. Companies hate bad PR. You will likely see a lot quicker response that way, than venting your spleen on a forum. Good luck with getting a positive outcome from them and pics of the Redline sytem during installation and when fitted are surely a must.

I'm running an IMA thumb brake , this master cylinder retains use of the foot brake as well .
Also running an IMA set of adjustable tripple clamps, mainly because the steering stops broke on my last attempt trying to stay rubber side up. Mupo are good, they are made just a few kms from the Ducati factory and they did a lot of R&D with Ducati .

I was also told at length there would be less than 1000 all told; now I present this little gem google just pissed out on my shoe [emoji1589][emoji1589]

Did they say that they would continue the FE bike or is it more the reg 1299 models? That would be total horse .... if they made more of the FE's.

In 2015 when yamaha came out with the new R1M for some reason people thought it was a one year run so people were price gouging for them and the first couple M's were on ebay for over $50k. FFWD to end of season 2015 and yammy announces that the M is back for 2016 so a lot of owners and seller/gougers were pissed:D. FFWD to end of season 2016 and they announce again that the M will be available for 2017 lol

"Progressively numbered, but not limited in quantity," That was in the FE description from Ducati's old website. So the salesman lied about the limited production. Do you like the bike, I bet yes. Then don't worry about it.

Um, well because the entire exhaust is locked into Euro4 my friend. It was actually her last ride. Originally, and I have Parts book diagrams I'm about to make public showing the truth, we were to get the same cans as the SL, pretty much the same system. Only difference is we were to buy our link pipe/cat delete ourselves and it's included with the SL. Completely fair.

Instead, what arrived on the big day was very different. Everyone looked very confused, I realized they were staring at the welded in baffles, totally differently flow design... I noticed a lack of mounting springs, quite a few things. I was told Akra was releasing a cat delete regardless, figured ok as long as I'm not starting from scratch at this price point.

After a while Akra answered my email about timeline, no explanation or apology. They excitedly informed me I could buy a full race system in November. I immediately imagined around $5,000.00 cash sitting on my counter promptly evaporating and have been pissed ever since [emoji23]

It's not about more power, she's a damn missile like nothing I've ever had. Makes my RC8 R's seem lethargic, and they range from built to why would anybody do that. One is my absolute love of snarling nasty twin Superbikes, the other is survival. I've put almost 3000 miles on her, starting in Central VA where the retired and retarded are such bad drivers it's mind boggling and without extreme noise? It's like pinball at times, attempted at least.

The other is deer. I live way out in the blue ridge mountains, at times on my RC8 I'd feel like it was a connected game [emoji23] See a group in the road and all around coming out of a turn and move them with fluttering Revs. The Competition Werkes was PERFECT for deer herding! Whoever said a single 8" muffler on that bike was sufficient had high speed herding in mind i know it!

In conclusion, Redline actually came into existence just to fill this need for track bikes and US customers. I'm allowed to let the Duc rumble, unfortunately I had to go this far to do it.

By the way, like most you assume a lot. Since I speak here, which incidentally is so maybe one other owner won't suffer this failure as many have since despite my reports and other occurrences cited by owner/dealer/technician involved in each to Ducati and Akrapovic they've done NOTHING, you assume this is it and I expect what?

Actually my father has been dying, and just died. During this process, the 12 hour double round trip to drop her off has been pretty low on my priority list. I sent pictures, talked to people, maybe I will get a free fairing but i moved on at drop her off. The time and cost associated leaves me dreaming of one arriving in the mail.

I believe people have a right to know. With the lack of truth in advertising these days and exclusive brand fanboy internet hit squads it becomes very tough to learn hard facts. I was just onboard an RC8 R while my cam chain tensioner lost pressure and I ejected a valve shim going into 6th Gear WOT. It's about bloody miraculous I didn't seize the motor, just destroyed it.

Why mention it? Because ktm knew and knows they messed up BADLY and those tensioners have no fail safe. $82 each dirt tricks tensioners? .... son, I wouldn't even own this Ducati. But nobody cared about us, especially not ktm. Akrapovic can troll my Instagram page, but not notify owners? Great stuff.

I think it is as much to do with owner/dealer relationship as anything else.
If you can get the dealer really on your side, then you are more than half way to
sorting your claim. If you and the dealer have friction, you may as well kiss your
warranty goodbye in a lot of cases.
I’ve never had anything of concern rejected by Ducati, but I have been lucky
to have found good dealers over the years.

I would add that one of the main concessions that you have to make, is keep the claims
out of the public forums. Once you have gone public with rants etc you have lost their trust.

My condolences Nesba53. No offence intended. I was simply curious as to why you opted for another system if yours could be repaired. In any case the Redline setup looks exceptionally well made and I'd be interested to see what they have done with the new low profile bellypan they promised would be forthcoming and how it fits to the lower fairings.

Well I've really got to say, after being a big sceptic, I am now officially eating my words! That thing looks great.

I would still like to see some first hand reviews, fitting and dyno runs. But I am definitely looking at this for my R now

Sorry too, everything gets so negative here so fast, shouldn't overreact. Thank you though, it's a touchy deal all in all. I never expect much of anything unverified, so inquiring as to my financial future with the big items, because I needed to make a decision that suited me. I'm pretty apprehensive to post what I have, because until then I'm just some idiot. After too, but not in this way [emoji23]

If you have to comply with Euro4 it's not a bad rig if everything was sured up. My whole attitude about it has a giant bill attached. More so, guess I have to take the blame as I think about it. It looked to me like for the price, we'd moved past this point in our relationship; Ducati and I. I will pour every penny I can into this, always have, no need to get funny about it!

At some point I'm going to publish these parts diagrams. It's clear as day, SL and FE both with the same part numbers in very expensive places. In the end it's all really to spread knowledge, help others make an educated decision, and save people from melting anything in this case.

Thanks again, walking past the beginnings of my install to go help family and handle more boring details now, it's awful! I did place an Aggressive parts order though [emoji1308][emoji23][emoji1308]

I will keep posting all I can under Agents of Italia on IG, I'm jammed up on time momentarily but hopefully doing more later tonight. Space heaters are all running full blast [emoji23]

Has everyone who order got their order yet?
I'm still waiting for my tracking number ughhh~ I can't wait any longer!!

I received my system on Monday. Everything looks great so far. I prepped the area to do the install and plan on getting started this weekend.

Just want to mention, i'm not trying to hijack the thread , just showing the options . SPF are a small fabrication shop like Redline, but based in the UK. The owner races Ducati , also support and R&D with Moto Rapido and PBM in BSB.
These pipes installed in minutes, no massaging whatsoever. Full titanium and inconel headers (so no cracking), Redline look impressive too. The SPF would be more quiet and there is another option for 98db , ( cans are 400mm long though). Nice to have options outside the regular AKRO and TERMI .

What did the SPF cost if you dont mind me asking? And did they come with the belly pan and carbon heat shields like the redline moto do? Well the carbon heat shields at least. Not sure if the redline moto comes with the belly pan included in the price

What does the Redline go for? Is the belly pan included in the price? I couldnt find the redline moto cost on their website using my phone.
