Results After TuneBoy Installs

What kind of trouble are you having ? Most things have been traversed by the inmates here before. The link above is good and there are several other good links in this and the other Tuneboy threads. I'm sure your probably right about the website though - it's not kept current with any great impetus.

I would like some installation instructions/operating, and I have a TuneEdit Keys card that is blank, and don't if that matters or not.

Nah, TuneEdit is old school, the MELCO ECU works with TuneBoyTrim. I'll dig out the user manual or a ref to the post where it is linked when next back in the house...

Someone help this poor dude, he's been stuck and asking for help for months it seems!

This is probably a really dumb question at this point, but I'm still getting a grasp of how all these different tuning boxes work.....

Is TB an add-on that stays on the bike?? Or is it simply a gateway/prgramming box used to flash the stock ECU? Meaning, if I split the cost of one with a friend, could we both use it to flash our bikes?

I have all these installed, and am not sure which one to use for what:

TuneBoy Trim (version not listed)

TuneBoy Tune Editor (5.1.0.0 D)

TuneBoy Engine

TuneBoy (looks like a dashboard)

I paid for the full product+Cruise, but cannot find any maps for my bike.

It completely replaces the ECU program, and is licensed per bike - I am not sure how, as I have no keys for my version. You can share maps, but not the TuneBoy itself, required to create and run a map.

I posted a live link to Panigale map on the OF where you have also posted looking for help. Looks like its for a stock bike though.

Trauma - pretty sure that's not the correct software for the Panigale. Was it you that received the wrong CD with the Tuneboy kit?

Personally I'd delete them all from your computer and start again! PM me your email address and I'll send you a link you can download them from. Might take a while as I'm away at present.

From memory I think there are 3 programs you should have

- FlashMitsubishi
- TuneboyTrim
- CruisePreflight

The FlashMitsubishi program is the one you use for unlocking the ECU and uploading the Tuneboy software. It's designed specifically for the Panigale, Diavel and Multistrada. Don't download from Tuneboy website as it's the wrong one (or used to be). Also you'll need the user ID (your email) and password (I had to email Tuneboy for this) to generate your 'key' to unlock the Tuneboy software.

TuneboyTrim - used to adjust the fuel/ign, reset service indicator, change DQS kill time etc. all the things that Tuneboy let you adjust.

CruisePreflight is a simple program used to check that both brake levers and the clutch register correctly for cruise control disconnect. Worked on mine for the clutch, not brakes. On the bike the CC disconnects correctly with both.

Did you get the cruise & tune package?

Trauma - try downloading the software from here

www.tuneboy.com.au/SetupDucatiMitsubishi.exe

That should give you the programs and instructions you need. However I doubt it's the latest TuneboyTrim program or Cruise and Tune file. If you go back to post #134 in this thread there should be a link to the later program and file.

Address sent, and this is the best info I have had to date, thanks much!!

The standard ($499) kit includes some software and an OST-2 interface unit. For $299 you can purchase an additional license key for another bike and use the interface from the first purchase.

Help Needed!

OK - I need some help

I successfully updated the wifi unit with the new update

I then tried to install the Cruise Only (I didn't purchase whole package)

I then did parts 1-6 of the instructions and downloaded the cruise only data file from the disc - it downloaded 100% and I then turned off bike when instructed and closed program

After waiting the 30 seconds, I turned bike back on

Instead of getting the next pop-up screen at 8 in instructions (which prompts you to turn bike on and off again) I just get the original "select trim file" page!

The bike is showing the engine! light and won't turn over; rev counter is flashing

Clock and odometer are OK so I assume ECU is not stuffed - I understood Cruise Option didn't alter original mapping anyway?

Obviously I am very concerned - the Mitsubishi program shows the bike but still shows no serial number for ecu and I haven't got to the point where you put in password etc yet to unlock key

I have tried this 3 times now with the same result

I've emailed TuneBoy, but thought somewhere here might be able to help - I hardly want to have to get Ducati to pick bike up and reflash it...

Any ideas would be greatfully received!

SBRS 2 suggestions.

1) Use the cable to do the flash, some guys had trouble when trying with wifi,
2) It might be in the sequence you are following. There was a step where I had some trouble. I think it was because I had opened the program before connecting to the bike (or vice versa, sorry it was a while ago) and it wasn't registering correctly. Try connecting it and loading up in a different order.

Whenever I reflash the bike I get the engine light, I think it's because you do the flash via the canbus system on the bike.

I have the same issue as Sbrs, using the cable doesn't help an I can only load the std tune back on to get the bike to start- no cruise added...
If I flash cruise only, it wipes the ecu serial number off the screen reopening in flashmitsubishi. The only way I got it to run was to load cruise and tune, turn bike off and on then load std tune. At least this got it running but I'm stuck without cruise. Anyone get past this issue?? Thanks for any help, tuneboy sure wont give any!

It's a while back now since I installed cruise and tune but I recall being surprised by being asked for the tune file a second time during the install but it did all work out in the end. (I used the USB interface all the way)

Yeah I've been trying this for a while, I can repeat flashes 2,3, or 6 times and it won't work. The cruise only file they are sending out is basically empty, it has to be. The std tunes will flash on every time, so the software works. I have passed all steps, I have my key generated, etc. I'm not even sure what they mean by key? Is it just an electronic password that unlocks the file on the previously installed tuneboy program? If so maybe the key is no good? Thanks for any help guys I'm new to this!

Has anyone had a warranty voided on a Pani yet? How about a 1098 or 1198? I have not heard of this happening. Maybe I haven't searched enough but seems like it's a rarity.

You're right it's very rare, never seen it nor heard of anything being voided that wasn't clear abuse..
