I have an 1199S and have recently spent the day on a S1000RR at a local track. While the BMW is much easier to ride fast, the fit, finish and components were sub par compared to Ducati's. Its easy to see exactly where BMW cut corners to save money. Yes, riding the Ducati is a little more challenging but I'm pretty sure that most riders couldn't ride either bike to it's full potential. With that said, I'll stick with quality components and the element of style and second the above, "We don't care how they do it in Germany...."

News flash!

This just in!...... Future bikes will be better than the older bikes!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

you want to hear problems ok.

the vibration in the handle bars is pretty rough needs heavier bar ends. have to buy new rearsets to get gp shift im not cutting a 2k carbon belly pan.

I had an s1000rr. 2012 model. Fast for sure but A few problems. Really dumb problems.

Engine came out for conrod recall. Then turn signals quit working, kick stand fell off, radiator hose popped off at 120 and doused me with coolant.

Handle bar vibration was awful. My hands would fall asleep.

I like the panigale a little better. I dig the motor characteristics. Pure grunt at the bars. The handling is a bit better in my opinion.

The heat sucks on the panigale though. But not one issue so far on the panigale. Seems solid!

I did not dislike the bmw though. It was really quick. Just quality control wasnt there with mine anyways.

Zx10 was a good bike. Wish i had kept it. Cheap and fast.

Hey @stanmart, thanks for the unbiased short reviews from your experiences with the bikes. I like that they are constructive and to the point.

So back to the super HP4... So Mr BMW (mark) what's the scoop on what makes it super and how do they plan to make it more super than the SL? How can you assume that because it's a BMW it must be superior? I think that would really depend on the rider and the riders style and preference to decide which bike is best for them. This doesn't make it the hands down best bike for all...

I was the same . Had a 2012 had the same conrod issues that was handled really badly by BMW which made me switch to a Panigale .
I am really happy with my swap the BMW motor was great as were the electronics but did not handle like the Pani .
Being a race bike the heat has never been a issue but can understand on the street how it would be a problem .
