Speak for yourself if you want to be an ignoramus. If you truly understood what's going on, you might care. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean damage isn't being done and it's not just about you. There are a lot of people with breathing problems and are far more sensitive to what's in the air than you. Even if you are healthy, you don't know the damage being done to yourself long term let alone the others, your food,
and water supply. As a collective group, motorcyclists and especially track riders don't contribute to the problem because our numbers are relatively tiny. But do try to give a dam, just a little. Being brash like the above doesn't help any of us.

Very well said... Sport Motorcycle community in general and Ducati community in particular, has always been the opposite of brash and crass. Sadly though "record sales" means all kinds of people with all kids of education level and logic are part of the community.

Its humorous to hear from people who agree with Science ONLY if it agreed with their preconceived ideas and "belief system".

Lighten up Francis. It was a joke.

Update, the "FCE" tick box was finally explained in this thread.

The short version is that I'm gathering FCE stands for fuel cut elimination. The idea is that the OEM map in the ECU will cut all fuel at 0 throttle. This leads to some surging when rolling the throttle back on. So, checking the box eliminates this.

But, I've noticed when doing some testing with WB and NB sensors, that I'm getting something wild like a -48.0 to -60.0 in the 0.0 / 1500 cell under the "Fuel TP Trim" tabs. This is the cell position the bike occupies at idle. That entire row for the 0.0 TP had some wonky values in it.

Just a wild ... guess at this point, but I suggest to leave the FCE box unchecked when doing ANY sort of tuning.

if you truly care about the environment - get rid of your 1199. even with all emissions equipment on board, your carbon footprint is still larger than if you were riding a motorcycle or scooter capable of getting 100mpg.

And don't sell, CRUSH the Aprilia RS250. Just warming up that two-stroke twin is enough to produce enough pollution to harm other people's respiratory health. I owned one once; I should know.

But what do I know? I'm not a member of this League of Extraordinarily Polite Sportbike Riders, I'm just a regular sport rider and high manners and small egos that defer to the environment, the reduction of noise pollution, and safe riding at the speed limit so as to avoid disturbing the normal flow of traffic - I guess you guys do that, but I've never seen it in my circles.

Because it's a ....... monster racebike.

My tuner was aware of the FCE box, but wasn't sure if ticking it meant staying with the stock fuel cut, or providing fueling on engine overrun (which is what I desire). The tune was done with the box unchecked. Now that the confusion is gone, I'm checking that box dammit!! It should help mitigate engine braking even further btw.

It should help mitigate engine braking even further btw.

Which I can confirm. Checking the box eliminates EB almost completely. An interesting experience in the first sharp turn on the track expecting some engine break...

Can't you turn the EB off in the Ducati the normal menu on our bikes. Can't remember if it's the 1,2,3 along with off or not.

Ya I should know this by now lol. Keep forgetting now and than... Mine is set to 3 on all modes.

A question for Wayne or any other tuners out there; ignoring the 14.7:1 values for now, do you find the other target values in this pic work better for 10% ethanol fuel?

Some interesting info I've come across in my research.

Air/Fuel (A/F) Ratios of Common Fuels

Fuel A/F Lambda (λ)
Pure Gasoline Stoichiometric 14.7 1.000
Pure Gasoline Max Power Rich 12.5 0.8503
Pure Gasoline Max Power Lean 13.23 0.900
E10 Stoichiometric 14.08 1.000
E10 Max Power Rich 12.0 0.8523
E10 Max Power Lean 12.7008 0.9020
E15 Stoichiometric 13.79 1.000

Having read through this thread with interest I thought I might be able to contribute to a better understanding because I'm a 5th generation Australian.

There's some cultural differences at play here. Aussies are direct and no-nonsense. In Australian culture that means an efficient communication with little wasted time.

That can come across as rude, blunt or poor customer service to Americans, but that his not the intent.

Being too lazy or ignorant to read a user guide for relatively simple questions will not get you far with an Aussie. Read ".... off until you've at least had a go at understanding yourself" without having to hear it. Also read "don't waste my time".

Failing to understand and needing help after having a decent go at it yourself, combined with as much documentation on what your issue is, plus screenshots and explanation of what's you've tried to resolve so far will get you a long way.

Aussies will not punish you for not getting it, they will ignore you for not giving not a go yourself first before asking.

Hope this helps and is seen as a positive contribution to a better communication.

A stunning defence - could you provide a link to the V5 documentation we are all running on our 1299's? :D

......... I've now spent better than $1k USD with them, and I can't get a f'n UDID added for the much touted iPhone app.

I can't go at that myself bub. Is that direct and no nonsense enough?

new software includes being able to use the +/- buttons to engage and nudge cruise control (when not in race mode) in the 1299S/Pani R. along with the other cool features, I'm particularly excited about this one - it's my idea and Wayne had me do something to my bike to read values when either or both buttons are pressed. No idea what - he gave me a program, I ran it, emailed him the numbers it spit out, and I guess he figured out how to code it in :)

so when you engage cruise just by squeezing both + and - buttons together with your left hand, much more conveniently than hitting the starter button, or enjoy nudging speed without changing your menu display items, you can think of ME ME ME!!!! :D

Guessing your talking about the larger paddle Up / Down buttons on the LHS bar? Nice work, was hoping Wayne would do that. Have you got V6 with launch control yet?

Yes. It must of occurred to many people that those buttons, inactive in Sport and Rain mode, could be put to use for cruise control.

I haven't yet installed V6; just noticed the link up for the beta version. Gotta go get this done :)

Had email from Emma yesterday saying that she should be able to send the tested V6.0 maps today. (Tuneboy time, so may be in 3 weeks time)

Anyone actually try installing the V6 beta? I tried several times today; it loaded, but when I started my bike, it would run for two seconds, then stop. It did this every time I tried, which was about 5-6 times. So I reloaded V5 and will wait to see what the issue is.

It might be that I'm on a US market ECU?
