V4 ‘23 - First Ducati. What comes stock with the bike? First mods suggestions?

Hiya, just got the call that my bike is arriving in a couple of weeks - equal parts excited and anxious. As it’s my first ducati, was trying to find details on what actually comes stock along with the bike but to no avail. E.g: rear seats, rear foot peg, manual, etc?

Also would like some informed input from current owners on what would be your key mods from day 1? I’m likely putting off on an exhaust till at least the break in is done, but have got the following ordered through the dealer to be installed when it arrives. Not really a fan of any of the tail-tidy options, closest is the NRC but still feels like it can be better. Bike is mainly for canyon rides, street with the occasional track day*
  • Radiator and oil guard
  • Rear tank guard and peg delete
  • Paddock stand
  • Frame sliders
  • Tank pads
  • Tank grips
  • Brake lever guard
Would ppf on the bike be a worthwhile mod?

i think you can skip the frame sliders man...
you will def need the pads to help grip the tank on acceleration, this thing rips buddy
Radiator guards are a must as well.
I dont think the bike comes with rear pegs installed...mine didnt.
your gonna want exhaust, the stock sound is pretty underwhelming, and the heat from stock cans are pretty bad.
I had a brake lever guard for a while, interferred with my hand movement on track.
you may as well ditch the stock mirrors too, worthless and vibrate pretty bad, get used to turning your head on lane changes, better that way anyways

welcome and good luck my man, so many people here with good advice and things to teach you. I learn something every day.

My bike came with the owners manual, spare key and the passenger pegs, passenger seat and tail fairings for the passenger seat in a box.

I’ve always preferred PPF to tank protectors since it has a much more minimal look to it.

Radiator guards are a good mod. I wouldn’t bother with frame sliders. Get the GB Racing clutch and sator cover instead.

  1. Radiator and oil guard
  2. Paddock stands front and rear are required if you want to work on it
  3. Tank grips and a pad for the back of the tank are a good idea
The stock bike is pretty good, you dont need to buy any go fast mods but the radiator guards are a must.

Yes, if you plan to resell at anywhere near market you will need immaculate paintwork but its not uncommon to put the new oem stuff away and get a second set to absorb the wear and tear. Ducati have an unpainted race set that you could get customized to your taste

Evotech stuff is very good quality, fit and finish is nice, i use those for the rad/oil cooler guards.

I'm not a fan of aftermarket tail tidies either, but the D/P carbon one is shorter and looks factory, with a slim set of the D/P LED indicators it looks sharp without looking out of place.

If it's a base model V4 with the manual suspension i would definitely agree with @Steven31371 and get the suspension set up for you, if it's an "S" with electronic suspension check the sag, my rear was topped out and i couldn't touch the ground on it from new.....

Frame sliders? nah, clutch and stator protectors and a discreet set of front fork sliders would be it, no need to modify the bodywork for any of that. GB Racing do FIM approved stuff that's reasonably discreet, D/P make carbon stator covers as well.

Some form of tank protection, grippers for your knees would be handy as it has already been said, they're bloody fast when you get up it.

I think some have good guys working there. The BMW dealer here moved locations and picked up Ducati. I plan on visiting and seeing how they are.

Get rizoma brake lever, fork sliders, gas cap, mirrors, front turn signals.
Future is moto tail tidy
Brake ducts carbon
Carbon rear fender
Ppf entire bike I did stealth ppf on my sp2. No need to tank pads or grips. I did add the carbon zipper guard.
Carbon rims incredible... Came with my sp2.
Dry clutch sick
Matte screen protector for your dash

Aiella radiator guards are second to none. Smaller holes in the center.
Aiella tie downs for passenger peg mounts
