Why does the pic of the V4R that just posted on Ducati's website have wires sticking out of the tops of the front forks?!

Not only that but electronic forks, manual shock 🤷‍♂️

some pics have elec suspensions some don't, all should have bene photoshopped to look the same but it does appear to be a pretty hectic situation that unfolded

I am not trying to argue with you @SuperDomestique
But with out sounding like a dick, I talk to people at ducati - you do not.

I hear you. And I agree that a new model is in the pipeline but I’m not so sure of the logic of launching said new model. I get that these nuggets are being passed to you by Ducati but what you’re saying is that they put this bike together in 2 weeks according to your last post on this. I find that hard to believe. You’d think if they weren’t going to make the deadline with an all new platform V4R w/ DSSA + seamless gearbox they would’ve known about this months in advance not weeks. But I don’t speak with anyone from Ducati. But I’d love to hear from these insiders on how/why they dropped the ball.

its not last two weeks, but the biggest thing here cancelling of a debut 2 days before - that is unheard of. And then mixed product shots showing V4R fairings on a v4S essentially.

I also apologize for getting wound up about this, I was also talking to people outside this forum about it at the same time and got a little charged ha. I also edited my post and regret saying anything about me knowing ducati people, that is not cool and I purposely do not bring that stuff up here and also do not badger them about what is and isn't going on - esp during a title fight in Moto gp

Just so you know, this bike that came out today has:
+A druidi livery done in a day
+A different swing arm pivot setting stock (same options as previous)
+Rear shock comes with way lighter spring + 20mm taller
+New electronics (same as 23 base V4)
+Barely new fairings
+Sort of a new tank

So this "back up variant" can wait in any wings, at any time

New electronics that are on the current V4 aren’t really new though. :p

I think they mentioned something about reducing slop in the throttle? Probably got a trade account with PanigaleSpacers…

It’s no doubt a fine bike but I can’t help feeling a little deflated and for some reason I had expected something a bit more special. Apart from the engine I don’t really think they’ve done anything particularly interesting with the V4R. I don’t think putting a number 1 on the front and side was necessary and putting numbers on the top yoke…

I was quite excited about the V4R but I don’t see anything about it that makes me want to jump out of my SP2. Maybe I’m missing something. 🤷‍♂️

Hard to argue that this is a great bike, but like many have pointed out, it's a let down for me as well, given where expectations were with somethings totally new like DSSA and seamless transmission.

If KarlKani is correct about a new gen V4R coming out in 2024, that might give someone pause to jump on this bike. If I had a 2019 V4R, an SP2. or even a late model V4S, this would be a no brainer pass for me.

Marketing would kill you if you did that. There’s no progression in the model line when you do that? What manufacturer has ever released the top-tier model AND THEN the other models. It would be like Porsche releasing the GT3 RS and then releasing the base 911 model. It’s a let down rather than a build up.

You forgot about all the engine stuff. There’s multiple teams coordinating the development and launch of one of these bikes. These things don’t just get slapped together overnight.

huh? That's what they did w the 19 R? had the new body work, suspension etc etc
