So as impressed with what it seems like Ducati might have accomplished with the new V4 I feel like I might be giving up more than I’m gaining as a rider by going back to a super high powered super technologically advanced bike again. Or at least by doing it too soon. A decent wait before the R version comes out is probably the best thing for me and my situation 😂😂😂

I so agree. Ain't nothing like seat time on something that's not saving your .... A few seasons on the kramer and your skills will be at a completely different level.

I'm wondering where the coolant top up is - hopefully they've made it equally inaccessible...

Not to get into the weeds but let me get this straight, you called me out but I’m being a troll? That’s rich…

Right right. Seeing it in the flesh probably gave you a ton of insight into how it rides and handles. If you were lucky, you may have even gotten to sit on it and make revving sounds and gotten a picture. That is after you got back from that lovely meal in Milan…
^^ this man

I’m probably gunna sell my RADE Garage Tank and seat soon, same or better ergos as the new tank and seat

Why you selling?

Gunna sell the V4, not using it, and won’t need it on the next V4R that I buy. The Tank/Seat is badass, love it, but no need for it on the new bike I think.

My V4 is the 25 Anniversario 916…. I tried selling it with all the upgraded parts on it but the guys who wanna buy that bike want everything original. So I’m gonna start parting out all the go fast stuff.

The RADE tank and the SuperLeggera wings will go for sale, probably the Thysenkrupp wheels too, possibly the Sparks WSBK exhaust. The carts and suspension stuff I might keep, but not sure the rear GP Shock will work on the next V4 even with swapped out mounts.

I get the feeling that putting a bike back to stock and selling the parts is the best way. That goes double for a bike like yours.

For the so called traditionalists, you could a lot worse than making an effort to understand Ducatis history

Interesting that they view Ducati as a technology company and their company’s sole focus is progressing and leveraging tech to their benefit. If that was the case, not sure how they made the argument on return to SSSA after the 999.

My point/opinion is that mere mortals, if blindfolded, won’t be able to tell the difference between the current gen and new bike when it comes to performance in the context of electronics and chassis dynamics. As big of changes that have been made, they’re superficial. This new bike is more iterative than revolutionary and we’re bumping up on marginal gains at least on paper looking at it from an objective viewpoint. It’s evident on the way that Ducati is marketing it and what was displayed at RoC (0.4-1 sec improvement albeit w WSBK front brake setup). I think the biggest improvement they’ve done w this new bike is the tank design and that’s what will help most with riding.

The 18 vs 22 on the other hand was a big bump in performance at least when it came to my brief road test ride between the 2 bikes and it was mainly the refinement of the ride that sold me.

It’s also refreshing to see a manufacturer actually update their superbikes on a frequent and regular basis. You don’t see that with other brands. And I acknowledge and respect the courage it takes to make paradigm shifts.

I’m going to make this geometry change on my V4 and if that doesn’t help turning, you’ll be seeing another V4 up for sale.

Probably not. Looks like the front frame is a little different. But then again I’m just looking at photos.

Speaking of, does a 22-24 tank fit the 18-21?

With the 2025, I'd speculate the front subframe is different as the dash is bigger and the mirror mounts have changed as did the air intake. That may be an easy fix if one went to a aftermarket front subframe. With the 18-24 the upper wrapped around the front of the tank. It looks like with the 2025 the upper fairings stay below the frame and what was the small battery cover on the 18-24 is larger on the 2025.

The 22-24 would fit the 18-21, but the upper side fairings are different. At first glance, to put a 22-24 tank on a 18-24 you'd need new upper side fairings and if less than a 21 the brackets to mount the wider fairings.

My Rade Garage tank is shaped to fit the 2024 fairings, I have the 2022 fairings…the little side tab/wing shaped bit along the side of the tank IS shaped different, the battery cover is too…but, you can still mount everything up with the 2024 tank and the 2022 fairings, it works, and is rideable and safe BUT there are gaps and places where it visually doesn’t fit right.

So they functionally fit but aesthetically the lines don’t line up.

dropping the forks up or down through the yoke a few mm is hardly a geometry change … a minor adjustment at most!

Do you have a ride height tool ?
What is your rear ride height at?
Have you ever checked what length your shock is?
Have you ever altered it?
Have you tried different steering inserts?
Have you got offset yokes that you have tried at different numbers?

2022 is the same as 2024. Did you meant to say 2021?
