How about an anecdote from reality this month from a real person at the frontline, not a chickenhawk?

"All the sick and dieing I've seen are unvaxxed. I know there are sick vaxxed people out there, I just haven't seen them. Not many nurses have.
Taking care of a few critically sick COVID the other day boss comes to me and says "ED is boarding [LOTS] and more coming. We gonna divide your [ x ] and you go to med-surge floor and take 6." It was so bad high level hospital admins were transporting patients from ED to floors. Elevator in the basement opened and the Big Big Boss and the Big Boss were rolling out a dead COVID. Nurses that have been through the first wave with PTSD or just sick of the .... calling in. ED should have had 10 nurses. Had 4 that day.
So today would be better, right? We have more and more COVID and I'm taking care of a very sick person in for other stuff that causes respiratory distress and who is vaccinated. COVID- Condition worsens and needs a machine called a BIPAP. This machine is basically the last step before intubation. Doctor in the room and respiratory therapist shows up to say the hospital is out of BIPAPS. That's right, the unvaxxed are fixing to kill the vaxxed who have the bad luck to need oxygen stuff right now.
I thought Jan '20 to Dec were the Dark Days. But even then we were never out of BIPAP. Vents yes.
There are going to be people dieing in the hallways of my hospital on regular non-rebreathers within 10 days, if not 7."

Our world means the risk of getting broken in a bike crash is always there, lets hope the local isn't like this when we get wheeled in.

Not worried about it. Headed to the beach to get some Vitamin D, something actually necessary. Sounds like doom and gloom in NZ.

Suddenly education and expertise matters? Make your mind up, legions of real experts are wrong but Parks is right! Horse paste one minute and bleach the next but you found a fruit loop Christian homeschool teacher who got a PHD 22 years ago but who hasn’t been in the field since 1999, a rusty outlier at best but she because happens to say something you like.... now you trust the experts?

She is a full on antivaxxer nutcase on a mission from god making false claims about vaccinations, she calls masks a biochemical nightmares that increases risk of cancer and diabetes which is all total ..........

Her basic message is don’t take vaccines because you can still get breakthroughs while completely ignoring the purpose of the vaccine program which is to avoid getting really sick and dying, and I might add they seem working pretty well considering that hospitals are full of mostly the unvaxxed. In Michigan where the hearing was held the authorities report 98% of COVID-19 cases have been from unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people.

Facts, so annoying when it doesn’t suit the narrative!

Furthermore she misrepresents what the vax program is trying achieve, even if you catch covid after being vaccinated, viral load still exists, but you are still much less likely to spread it, another fact on the ground. She has zero research published no papers and taught high school bio for 5 years and then the homeschooling gig. In other words, she’s an idiots version of an expert.

She bleats that 75% of those in hospitals right now are full of vaccinated people, ignoring reality. This is a common thing with anti-vax arguments, it’s called pseudoscience the blending of ........ big words, studies and data while lacking context. Call them add hominem's if you like but I responded after I was called out for not listening to her garbage and so in turn I am calling her so called expertise. So if you are going to present her as an expert then her credentials need to be examined, she's out of her depth. Btw this is not a left or right argument, its science pure and simple. There is a deep sense of being right that gets in the way of about everything at times. Whether or not there is a grand plan to divide and conquer the masses by the evil deep state spooks, the misinformation machine sure is good at it.
I think in the next years there will be a critical need to share real info filtering out what's for sale and who's selling the latest consolidation of power as way to set yourself free by giving up your rights and getting in line.

We can have a brotherhood with common interests with a little effort. A place of trust and info and we have it on many subjects. Our ability to maintain that will be our ability to stay above the shitshow that seems to be flowing like a mudslide.

There are some hilarious debates in here on all kinds of subjects. I have to say thanks for all the input. I hope we can keep it respectful, keep us together, and the wasting time to a minimum.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be but, unfortunately, human nature still tends toward tribalism. Right-leaning people tend to favor individual liberty over centralized state authority, and endorse ideas like freedom of speech and the free exchange of information; left-leaning people are inclined toward the centralization of state authority over individual liberty, and endorse censorship of speech and information. Tough to find common ground there.
