Hang on a minute . Which Brad is the dick ?
I want to know which Brad is Dick for future reference .
Brad P is a dick or plain old Brad is the dick or are they both dicks .
I'm struggling with the knowledge of wether or not I have bought a piece of .... and when it's going to leak oil and the a BMW might be better .
But not knowing which Brad is the dick has really thrown me .

I'm the real Dick:)

Actually I've also been called an ....... by my lovely ex.
But i'm usually called a ..... So she was only a couple of inches off.

I think he was referring to me you Dick:rolleyes:

Lol, dicks and comedians! :D.

Well one Brad provided some feedback. So I guess that just leaves you in the dick column.

Yes your quite entitled to get some feedback.
In the main the bike is exemplary in most respects, and great in all others.
There you go, that's my totally unbiased opinion.

There are probably a small handful of people who would be honestly critical of it.
A couple of them may even be here on this forum.

IMO, the main problem with the bike is that it's not for the un-initiated. (truly)
Also it is unforgiving in that it will show up your lack of riding skills and you need to be prepared for that mentally and emotionally. (we all have deficiencies)

In summary, if your ignorant of what you're dealing with, one of two things will happen. One will either be disillusioned with the ownership experience.
Or the light will go on in ones head, and will be hooked for life.;)

I don't know how old you are.
But the Britten (built in about the early fifties) was the first bike other than the DUCATI Moto GP bike without a frame.
The 1199 is the first production bike without a frame.

Cheers:)

Thanks

No prizes for coming second mate.
That makes you the first looser.

Tell you what.
How about I bow out of the race and hand 1st class dick status over to you:)

That way I can concentrate on being the biggest .... that ever lived.

Wow! You guys are sensitive. All I am after is some honest feedback from current owners. But most of what I seem to be getting are comments about the BMW. I am not asking Ducati owners what they think about the HP4. I am asking about the 1199.

I do like the 1199. I do want one. Just trying to get some real world experiences before dropping lots of money on another toy.

If some of you need to put down the BMW to make yourself feel better, then that's your issue not mine.

Where am I supposed to get owner feedback from?

And it's not that this is the first bike with a single side swing arm, but first one without a frame.

I do appreciate some of you that have provided some good feedback.

Honest feedback? I think you're looking for bad feedback and you know it.

Do you think when we bought the bike we received a letter in the mail telling us we've just been initiated into some cult that forbids us to say anything bad about the bike?

Read the forum about any issues.

I need to make a trip to Australia! So many funny peeps there.

I am done with this thread. I think I got all I need from it.

The Brad and Brad show. Ones a dick and ones a ....! Match made in Ducati heaven! :D

my dealer has a hard time keeping them in stock as well. buy what you want, and don't worry about anyone else :)

There are people that wouldn't want to admit they purchased a bad bike. I am not saying the 1199 is. I rode one. Don't own one. And saw a bunch that were "returned" or "sold" with under 1000 miles. I don't see how someone would drop all that money on a premium bike and then take such a hit on trading it in or selling out right so quickly. There must be more to it. So hence my original post. Is there something that is not being broadcast. It doesn't have to be a defect but could be a characteristic about the bike that many can not deal with.

Unlike many on this site, I don't have unlimited funds. I can purchase one, but don't want to be forced to sell it for some strange characteristic.

Who else can I ask these question to besides current 1199 owners? I didn't realize you guys were so sensitive.

I guess this sums it up.

Ducati 1199 Panigale Review - YouTube

The problem with expensive toys is that some of the ones capable of affording them also work very hard and are very good at their careers and not so much in riding a big bike. They might have bought it on an impulse because it looks so good and found that they have no time to ride and when they do they get scared and put off riding. Crap! I wish I can ride my 1199 more!

You see a lot of "super cars" with the same issues. Even more so with Ferrari. They don't even make a true manual trans any more. Maybe because they found really rich dudes can't drive stick..

Yes, I think that seems to be the most plausible reason to my original question. It is said to be not the easiest bike to tame. I guess you live by the sword and die by it. What gives is the passion also makes it hard to ride.

Your insurance rate depends on credit history, driving record, age and miles driven for the most part.
Shop for rates once a year and you should be OK.

hello my name is brad and I am a dick from Australia

(kinda like"¦hello my name is brad and I am a alcoholic "¦no offence to the AA members here if any)

fbto .... off back to the beemer forum

Brad the dick from Australia

Like in AA, the first step is admitting it. Good boy! Now go put another shrimp on the Barbie bitch and take another sip of that horrible Fosters. :D

Dick!
