Thanks again for all the replies! I am feeling the love. I believe my question is answered and we can lock this thread. No need to get any further 1199 or BMW bashing post on here. Plenty of other threads already existing to take care of that.

I apologize if I made any 1199 owners upset, especially if you live in Australia and are dicks, ..... or cocks.

Cheers.

There we go you do have a sense of humour

Buy a 1199 and join the fun

Just don,t become one of the whingers

I'll try to answer your original question based on personal experience.

I'm on my 3rd one in less than one year.

1st one: Base model. No issues, loved it for a few months, but then-
the R came out...

2nd one: R model. No issues, loved it for a few months, but then-
needed quick cash to pay for bathroom remodeling.

3rd one: S model. No issues, loving it sofar, and will continue to until the next situation forces a change in the plan.

My two Panigale sales had nothing to do with 'not' liking it, or reliability/problems.

FWIW:
I'm not brand loyal. I buy what's cool enough to stir my passion.

At the end of it all,
The inline-4 bikes that I've owned- while all great and awesome bikes:

Well... when I fire up these V-twin pasta machines, there's no comparison.

can I get an AMEN

That must be one nice .......!! Forget about how much you paid, but how much you must have eaten on those two early sales!! Wow!

This is exactly why I do not own an HP4. While it may be really cool and cutting edge in certain respects, an I4 was simply not part of my bike shopping checklist for this purchase.

Now if I were going to get a track bike, it would probably be a 600cc I4 that I can thrash. Street bikes, IMO, require something more unique. A twin, a cafe racer, a supermoto thumper. Something that won't be mistaken for every other japanese sport bike buzzing around.

When I fire up the panigale and it thumps on my neighbors' houses front doors from inside my garage I know I made the right choice.

Except for when you come home at midnight or even later and the neighbors get disturbed. I've gotten a couple friendly complaints with my car but so far none with the bike. Haven't been out very late with the bike though so that would probably change lol. Oh well. My toys aren't going anywhere! Hard not to fall in love with the sound of the Pani.

Because the bike is garbage, the engine is garbage, the stock gearing, guess what? you said it, GARBAGE!
I'm listing my S and my R on ebay this weekend :)
Can't wait tip they are gone! But hey, its okay that two $30,000 leak oil, and its okay that 100,200, 300 or whatever number it is of other peoples bikes leak oil. But its just "normal" to the idiot "Ducati Defenders."

Re-read your post. You honestly think that's an accurate or fair statement and applies across all bikes?

WhitePani your posts have become white noise.

Ha, because they're insecure and while the s1000r is a spectacular bike i t does look like ass from almost every angle :D

.
We get S1000RR guys coming over here ad nauseam trying to preach why their bike is better. Who knows why.

For the record, I have not brought up the BMW in this thread. I was simply asking about the 1199.

Can the MOD lock this thread already.

Why is that? Question was asked and answered. Throw in some BMW bashing! Some name callings. And a whole lot of venting.

The horse is dead! Why are we still beating it?

My comment was tongue in cheek. FYI, I spent a couple great code track days on the s1000R, a superb bike and a whole easier to live with on a daily basis than an 1199 (just imho). But it's looks just do not come close to the duc.

A lot of us have been around on this forum for awhile and we like to have a bit of fun now and again. I mean how many threads can we make on what oil to use or how to break in a bike?

Just be glad that another fellow Canadian, Frosty Fire, is no longer with us, he could be a bit abrasive to "some" people. :D

You don't have the experience to make such BS claims dude.

The stock gearing is fine if you know how to ride.

Its a personal choice not a need, and now your whining like a little girl like your buddy over something you don't have a clue about.

What a bunch of horse crap from a noob.

The bike does 101mph in second with the 39t at redline. Riding hard in the canyon I almost never get the bike in third.

Whats it with a 41t 96 in second 98? if that changes your world you better go out and get some riding lessons because you cant even ride a keyboard.

One day when you learn how to ride a Ducati, your going to realize what squid tactics your pulling in this forum and you will know how bad you embarrass yourself.

Your like your bud, youll whine like a cheerleader on prom night in the BMW forum as well.

A bit harsh; All bikes are dsinged with purpus in mind. I have ridden the Pani and find the stock gearing fine and not much differant than my Diavel. Keeping RPM in the range the engine likes is key. On mine that is anywhere above 4K and found the same true one the Pani. With that you have to use the clutch a lot in town but no problem as it is very usable where I rind in the mountians. Second and third get the most use and could use just second but often go to first for 180% turns on tight roads. To me all is a plus. If one dosn't like this? I would think they bought the wrong kind of bike for their style.

Bike are also bilt for mass and not indaviduals. I spent over 10K getting my Diavel where I like it; no love it, and not sorry for the money spent.

Ok, then let's play. My HP4 is better than yours!! NA-NA NA-NA POO-POO!!

Actually the HP4 is better than most bikes. Certainly the best bike I have ever ridden!!

:D

that's the spirit. I also think as s1000r s go they look pretty good.

That's it:mad:
I'm with White13pani on this one.
I will cut my losses and sell the ....... S straight away.

Then that'll help fund the 1199SL:D:D
