Hi BMW Alpina, thanks for the tip, I'm going to put aside the motive product and go buy the Stahlbus, should I installed one on the master as well? where and how many did you installed? i may want to do the same....thanks again!!

Hi TsaiCo,
I plan to install them on either ends, so one Stahlbus on the Master Cylinder and another one on the brake caliper (or the Clutch Slave Cylinder).
Please note the Clutch Slave and the rear Master Cylinder will need a Banjo Bolt/Bleeder Valve Combo.

So, 2 for both front master cylinder (brake and clutch), 2 for both front caliper, 1 for rear master cylinder, 1 for rear caliper and 1 for clutch slave cylinder.
Again they are different sizes.

I purchased them directly from Stahlbus USA website: Bleeding brakes - simply intelligent oil change. We have the solution for easy bleeding of hydraulic brakes / clutches and intelligent oil change for all vehicle types: The stahlbus Bleeder Valve and stahlbus Oil drain valve.
They provide very fast shipment (I know because I have to order in 2 separate orders because I forgot something and both orders arrived in just 2 business days).

You will want to review this PDF documents to find the right bleeder valve for our bike. If you can't find the equivalent for Panigale V4 on some parts, just just use the 1299 equipvalent.

I hope this help.

It certainly did !!

What do you mean by benjo bolt? Couldn’t use the old one on the bike?

Still learn my ropes you see....[emoji23]

Hi TsaiCo,
Because the rear master cylinder (unlike the front master cylinder) does not have the port/holes for the bleeder valve, so the bleeder valve must be combined with the banjo bolt:
Look like this one:

I installed GP4 RX calipers with HPK discs but you will need to change the lines. Danny King from Hel Performance is working with me to create the templates so if you ever need the lines speak to him. The MS Calipers Have the nipple in similar location but I have not been able confirm with Brembo if you can swap the nipple and banjo bolt locations for a direct fit on a V4. I am having a set delivered next Monday for my MV F4 so I will take pictures to help you decide.

If you install the corsa corta master cylinder you will need to reposition the location of the ms further to right of the bar end which means you will need to reposition the brake line so the oem one will not fit correctly. You will also need to use lady birds to make the reservoirs fit as you will not be able to use oem brackets. Basically it’s not plug and play.

I am pretty sure those nipple and banjo bolts is swapable, however, yes, it is best until Brembo confirm back to you.

First of all, Very Nice Caliper Raul, Congratulations :D

I also talked to another person at HEL Performance in Exeter UK (funny that both Goodridge and HEL decide to have their HQ in Exeter, must be concentration of high performance parts supplier there)...
I used HEL Performance in my car, bought them using their very friendly online configurator a few years ago. Very good quality.

Unfortunately, HEL Performance do not offer KEVLAR braided line and I only want Kevlar braided line

Anyway, my brake line will be very different anyway so I will need to create my own template :D

Oh, when you have time, please review my previous posts, I will use different (and semi custom) brackets for the reservoir, and if needed, I might to make a full custom bracket. But it will be bolted to the Rizoma mirror bracket.

Hi so here I use the lady birds to make the reservoirs fit. Also on clutch side I used a pressure switch on banjo for clutch switch. What did you use?

Hi Raul1976, please take a look at my post 1 or 2 page or 3 page before this page, and you can see I am using the Rizoma mirror bracket as the mounting point. And then go from there, hoping that an AELLA tie down bracket will fit, but don't know yet, until they arrive from Japan in next month so please stay tune :p
I am sure, I still have to do extra customization.

Have a set of the brembo mc calipers to go on my speciale but not managed to get to uk yet to remove the brake and clutch lines. Do Hel performance now have a set of the brake and clutch lines for v4? And the templates they are crating for you, are they standard lines or modified for your bike?

If you are going to install MS calipers then you use the oem lines and oem master cylinder as the piston size in the ms is 30mm. It’s a straight swap. Brembo have confirmed that you can use either port at the top of the caliper for the bleed nipple (m10) or banjo (m10) also. So you can install them now with no modification. If you install the corsa corta master cylinder then you will have to move the lever off to the right to be line with the grip. This means you need to run a new line to the abs pump. It’s easy. Fairings off and it is on right side of bike near front. You cut a few cable ties and remove. Note the line you will replace with will be fully flexible unlike the oem one that has a combo or hard and flexible line.

The cable length needs to be 41cm to reach from abs pump to corsa corta master cylinder. Danny king at hel has template utilising abs pump with correct angles for banjos. It took me 3 attempts to get perfect. I’ll post pictures later.

Raul, thanks for the info. actually i want to change the brake and clutch lines anyway, i want to fit either quick release couplings or male fittings directly into calipers. i dont want to turn the speciale into a race bike, so am not sure yet wether quick release couplings are safe enough for road riding. (have a contact at goodrich who made the lines for my cbr, but he says the qr couplings not certified for road use.) that may just imply that they have not been tested for approval on road bikes. Thats why i was asking if you have given Hel the templates for standard lines so I could then get them to make up the fittings i opt for.
also interested in removing rear master cylinder to replace with suter or brembo 'all in one' unit, but again, need more info? and that would require completely different rear brake line from abs unit to the new brembo P2 rear caliper i have already.

Im checking that the lines have made are correct and once spec is complete you can ask Danny for template.

Chris320. There are a few people on this board who have run that rear caliper and the PS13 master for years with and without the ABS setup. Maybe shoot them a PM. With regard to the QR fittings, what would your reasoning be for running them with the MS calipers? The MS caliper is “road rated” meaning the piston assembly is sealed from debris. Only reason to run QR lines is if you are running a component or components in the system that require frequent cleaning or disassembly like a race spec caliper without dust seals. If you do need to run them get the Staubli not the knockoffs. I believe they are “off road” items but the Staubli may carry a spec, not sure on that. If it’s a cosmetic application I would pass. It’s expensive and the less complexity in the system, the better. One of those things fails and it’s probably not going to end well.
