Not to mention the plastic gas tank that swells up and gets deformed. I will
Never buy another bike with a plastic tank.

Not arguing weights. Nor have I ever raced a rsv or raced against one.
But as a Sunday bike the RSV is a nice piece of jewelery.
In reality most riders wouldn’t feel the weight difference.

Racing a bike is a whole different cup of tea .
The needs, wants and desires are vastly different.

My race bike (ZX) is set up hard. Seat is hard, no cruise, brakes are woooden when cold etc.
Not an involving bike for the road.
But a excellent track weapon that wins races regularly all over the world.

So to say the the RSV is a dog on track is understandable.
But on the road it’s possibly a excellent machine.

The new V4 will have to perform on road ( win hearts) and track (win races)
2 very different disciplines.

Let me start that I am ducati fan hence why I own one, but I can't turn the other side and ignore the fact that Aprilia with that heavy bike has won't more WSKB titles than much lighter Panigale that has won total of what? 0. So obviously Ape is pretty capable in race form as well.
