Lets talk ebc..

I have a tendency to dive hard into the turn, trail brake with maintenance throttle and hard drive out of the corner.

I'm having the same issue. When I am accelerating then cut the throttle to slow down for a red light etc. the throttle seems to stay on for a second. This is a little scary until you anticipate it. I never thought about it being caused
by the engine braking set on 2 and the throttle being blipped?

I will try riding it with the engine braking set to off and see what happens.
( that is if it EVER stops raining). We have had more rain than I can remember here in Austin Tx and it always seem to be raining on the weekend.

Speedy.

I say try to turn the EBC off. I ride with it off and really like the way it feels. I have tried all the different settings and prefer it off. I have used it on the same corners back to back and prefer it off.

I use trail braking into the corner as I transition from Deceleration to Maintainance Throttle and then Drive out of the corner. EBC in any setting other then off just really slows me down too much.

Good to know, and good point. When I get my bike back from the shop I'll be riding quite a bit.

I also think that because you had broken fork internals aka the marzocchi pogo

that you will really change your opinion of the bike.

have fun & enjoy your new bike .

Yeah, the forks werent exactly smoked unitl I played with the rebound adjusters only after that was it unrideable. Im sure it wasnt helping tho to put it mildly..

Take it out and find a really good corner to test it on. I have run the same loop over and over to really get a feel for its actions. I just kept trying different setting until settling on EBC Off. Off feels the best for me with my riding style but everyone is different.

Coming from a 916 to a much bigger twin would probably be make a difference in engine braking due to the big ol pistons from the Pani. In the end it sounds like it's the nature of the beast.

Maybe the only other option would be to sell it and buy something else other than a twin that fits that riding style...or get used to it in time and adjust your riding style.

Granted theres a lot more motor here but its not the twin I have an issue with; its the clutching. I enjoy the torque of a twin and its best suited for the topographical area I live in; been riding them for quite a while..

I'm really looking forward to doing just that!!

^ Good advice! When I first got my bike, I turned all the electronics off and rode it that way for a week or two to understand the basic platform before playing with the various settings. Having come from all-analog bikes, even then the RBW took some getting used to, having a definitely different feel to an old-school throttle & cables setup. After that I did exactly as leftcoast32 recommends on a local stretch of twisties several miles long. Played with the suspension, throttle response curves, TC and the EBC one thing at a time until I found the range I thought useable for each and noted what did what. The EBC was kind of the hardest to get my head around due to the way it works and affects the throttle, but basically I ended up liking lower settings (more engine braking) for more relaxed riding (reasonably quick but short-shifting to keep it real on the road), and the opposite for committed riding at higher revs.

Not sure why everyone's so jumpy about someone asking a simple question about the clutch, it's really just a matter of trying to find a familiar feel. Doubt it's fully achievable with a RBW bike, but ditching the EBC and mounting familiar slipper hardware would probably get the closest to it. I'd suggest some time getting acclimated to the new electronics and then reassess. Just my $0.02...

Appreciate the support Steve. Thank you for the encouragement.
