some info :

The Pro pipes are meant for R only. As of course it can be mounted but it s impossible to activate the RPO settings already in place in the R. Aftermarkets engine managment systems have to be used. This annuls the warranty. and apparantly the non R engines seem not to cope very well with that pipe. .The engine that blew yesterday carried that pipe for not more than a couple of laps... is it due to that pipe? who knows? is it reassuring , certainly not.. Ducati states clearly that the Pro Pipe is R only...

Not sure I understand the point of this post???

I'm really starting to doubt you have any idea what you are talking about. An exhaust pipe is not going to pop a motor. You fully understand that right? A bad tune or faulty components will. The R pipe being steel won't be the best option but still your crusade to differentiate the R as some kind of special thing is pretty obvious at this point.

I tend to agree but with the addition that i think he is also constantly trying to show he is something special too..

I agree the pipe cannot make it blow up, you cant install the R upmap so maybe if you custom mapped a std bike with the extra revs the R has it might be a problem because it doesn't have Ti rods, other than that theres no real difference in the motors

Dunno man can't see it . The AR threads have gone quiet maybe need a new target hey .
I gather he was just trying to help . Maybe the new long pipe makes a non R motor run too lean without the ability to utilize the new map once again it's only a guess .
The only reason I can see the non R motors not being able to use the official map is because the R motor runs 500 rpm more at the top due to lighter internals . Could be critical for a S or base motor is my guess .

I'm with you W! Also, as an other poster mentioned, things do get lost in the translation which can distort the intent of a post...trust me I know since English is not my native language.
I'm always interested hearing and reading about new products or add ons that can make your bike even better if so desired. ;)

Well I stand to be corrected but its a feeling I get.... Seems the R is special and so are its riders???

Stw, the R might be special, but I can assure you that there is absolutely nothing special about me:D

Well, a very open exhaust can make a bike run very lean meaning higher combustion temperature resulting in possible motor damage. Especially at the track, when operated in high revs all time...

Can it cause bad typing too??? :p

That's the tune causing failure not the exhaust.

You guys love picking through the bones to find something wrong with a thread .
The guy said that from the beginning that's the way I read it but I do own a R so I guess it makes me a little smarter than you other guys ;).
