most of regular folks dont have spare money for it but ppl who has $$$ that can spend 80k like nothing they will buy it without ..... about it. for the ppl who have a hard time spending $20-$30k will not like what ducati is doing with SL pricing and put all the reasons in the world why it is not worth 80k. if i have won the lottery i wont ..... even if ducati made $200k bike nor about price of a $1.5mil laferrari being over priced compare to "i can build 2000hp honda civic for $250k bs" etc.
at the end of the day i know ducati will make a good bike for the money.
just my 2 cents

I find it interesting that no one seems concerned about how the 1299SL will handle. Using carbon fiber in the two key flex points on the Panigale - the swingarm and the monocoque airbox - is going to change how the bike handles a lot more than switching from aluminum to magnesium.
This could be good or bad. But if you ask Ducati Corse, or especially Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden, they're not going to have positive things to say about a carbon fiber frameless bike.
Nonetheless, the Panigale is a beautifully engineered design with elegant solutions to eliminating the frame altogether. It's too bad that it was so uncompetitive, and that it has taken Ducati several years to get the bike to even win a single WSBK race (although they've now definitely gotten the bike sorted out!).
Despite being a Panigale, using carbon fiber in those key points really makes it the closest thing you'll ever get to a GP10 replica, and that's a very cool thing. I'd want to know how the bike handles on a track when pushed, before dropping $65k on one, which would require reports from riders flogging their 1299SLs on tracks.
I doubt many 1299SLs will see much track time however.
If you read Stoner's book he has good things to say about the carbon frame and how he reckons Ducati should have developed it further.
Yup. It's all relative.
exactly.
Like some people wont buy clothes from Walmart...because it is embarrassing and go to the Mall and buy Armani or whatever since their "means / income" can afford it.
On the other hand, some people cant afford Armani and gladly buy clothes from Walmart.
Its all relative to your means.
Lol very true.and then there's the ones who can only afford WalMart and go in debt to buy Armani, because the think they "need" it
It's not impossible to get. A forum member just received his RS16 and had the option of getting that exhaust and chose to get the single exhaust outlet, the version before the double outlet.
So it's been 3 days since the Ducati - Project 1408 website launched and still no photos?!?!

I got a magic ball and I can see it look like a panigale with more .... that you don't need and it will make you slow in the track because you will worry too much about your fancy carbon fiber and the guy in the ninja 250 it going to pass you in the strait away.but in the pit you can brag to the guy next to you about how bad ... you bike is.until your section show up and everybody know to pass you in the first lap because you are going to be too concentrated in choosing the multiple computers aids and making sure you are not tailgating anybody, you don't want rock chip on your cool ... bike.
ahaha do you track alot? what bike do you track with? actually I never had problems with my 2016 Pani R .. must have been lucky

I don't think we are going to see any photos of the bike until the unveiling of it on 07 November at EICMA. The website does need to be updated though. They obviously have a marketing strategy and going to systematically release new components over time to keep our attention. Looking forward to seeing this beauty. So it's been 3 days since the Ducati - Project 1408 website launched and still no photos?!?!
