hey guys i know this is a common issue.. still i would like to know if you know any adjustments possible to make the front wheel more straight under full thorttle..

i have a base Panigale with the Termi's and april 25th my front sprocket wil be changed to 14t and i will receive the new mapping which they say give a lot more midrange and a little on top.

i weigh 70Kg/s and on full throttle i go al the way forward and 1-2 i am pretty sensitive with going to full throttle im not banging the power on.

but still the front end keeps going a little left-right-left-right..

any tips guys :p

i assume next week my bike will be even more sensitive to this.

only around 4th gear the bike stabilizes and then i lose the problem. but 1-2-3-4 it's like fighting to keep it straight... also offcourse it keeps going up in 3 and hovers above the ground in 4th..

no chance it could be rider input, unknowingly, on the handlebars?

I have the base as well with the same issue. Perhaps a stearing dampner upgrade and stiffened could stop the wobble?

not that i know of.. when on full throttle what do you do ? do you pull or push on the handlebars? i tried both but i don't seem to get the right way of keeping the pani straight..

1st i tried pulling both sides towards me to keep it straight but for me i would expect it to go up quicker.

2d i tried to push the handlebars away from me a little downwards... this seemed to help a bit..

but other than that i have no idea.

any suspension possibilities?

maybe you are right and the steering damper has to be more stiff..

nothing adjustable on the stock damper?

it's not a joke.. i drive for many years and pul wheelies through the gears with my pani with quickshift haha but somehow just going full power Flatout is something she doesnt like to do

Don't play with your steering damper, just learn how to finesse the throttle and roll on gradually.

Once the wheel is in the air thats it, the pressure or the grip you have on the bars is what is causing the wobble.
That and the undulations in the road.

Other solution is go and drink a shit load of beer and fatten the fuck up so there is more weight over the front!

I understand, have you tried also stiffening up the rear suspension, and setting the sag front and rear - mine was squatting so much under hard acceleration it made the front feel light at very high speed.

haha gavin :p yes a shit load of beer might help :p

so what your saying gavin is when the front i in the air i have to try to apply as less as possible pressure on the bars? so that when i come down it wont be set in a slight direction left or right?

wafat , my bike is set on Flat and other than that there has been no suspension adjustment.

what you are saying about squitting is exactly what i mean.

thanks for helping me with info guys i will be telling my dealer this in 4 days for sure.

I went on track and I didn't have any issue at all, except a little bit of wheelie in 3rd....I went up to 250 with no issues

Hmmm? Did you mean uncommon? I don't remember reading this topic enough to call it common. (or at all yet)
I've been to several track days where there is a 1/4 straight coming out of the final turn, reaching speeds of 150mph and I don't remember my bike ever pulling one way or another.

If your 1199 is doing this, I'd get it to the shop ASAP. Pulling under acceleration cannot be a good thing. Since you are under warranty, I wouldn't mess with any of the geometry before Ducati looks at it.

Learn how to ride!

This has to be a joke right?

Wow! Harsh. Easy Tiger! I think there's a small language barrier here. I think he's suffering from the same 'squitting' as me when I first rode the bike.

Canepa's handlebars were all over the place compared to Bayliss's who was hardly holding the bars at one point. Is that what you're trying to show?

Now watch Troy's handlebars when he pushes the 1199 at the same circuit….

One lap with Troy Bayliss on the Ducati 1199 Panigale - - YouTube

Nothing can be done with the handlebars when pushing it some - it's the design in my opinion, my 1198R does something similar but not as pronounced, then again the 1199 Panigale has more power at the higher part of the rev range.

I have not seen a lot of TV footage CHECA on the 1199RS, because he either crashed, or the TV camera did not give him more than a minute in coverage so we couldn't see what the bike was doing. I am looking for the WSBK Qualifying video where CHECA made pole position…. then maybe we can see the bike at work. Even WSTK coverage with Barni Race Team and Cenepa or Eddie La Marra footage would be great. Anyone have a link?
