panigale RR on the books?

It'll be a fairly big jump. My guess is that it'll be 80-90 so priced above the desmo. Don't know the final run number and it might change like the previous ducats depending upon how many are preordered.

In terms of desmo - it is still one the few bikes that command the attention no matter what other bike is out there. It also is one of the few bikes that will always bring a smile when you are running on it (outside of maintenance bills).

i agree on the 80/90 ... 50 is nowhere near the amount needed to make a difference...

apparantly it has been seen at the factory and would have to cost 64000 euros...

there is talk of magnesium SSSA and Ti frame... and probably WSBK suspension..

120 made and invitation only buyers...

now the "r" owners are all up in arms...lol. Welcome to the club from us "s" owners...lol.

Very interesting. Perhaps a November unveiling will occur?

I am not doubting kope here but my dealer doesn't think that anything better than the R is due next year.. he is due to attend the NA dealer meeting in New Orleans so when he gets back I will see what he has to say. He has a pretty good idea of what's in store so I wouldn't doubt him.

I am getting my 2014 R tomorrow and IMO, this bike itself was a huge pinch on my pocket so the RR is just way out of my reach.. 85k to 90k (in dollars I mean) is just outrageous.. forget that.. even 30k is beyond reach for most.

that's why I got a base. I don't have to worry about getting one-upped. I just worry that they will release a "Value Edition" then I will really be pissed.

Exclusive territory indeed. At this price point it would certainly carry the same jaw-dropping awe as the Desmo.

I think those bikes would sell well. As I understand, the original batch of Desmos was sold out quicker than Ducati expected, forcing them to produce more of those bikes.
I can see how this could cause some of D16RR and 1199R owners to loose their sleep over this bike, and to drag their prized ones back to the dealer for a trade in the way some Tri and S owners are doing it now...

1. How could you produce more of a bike that's limited to 1500 on the triple tree!!!! Maybe the desmos were produced "faster" but more then what was expected I think not!!! Retract your statement sir!

2. How many bikes out there looking like kope999r? Not many! People with pockets deep like his will probably buy this bike and I don't see many iterations of his build out their.. So it won't sell that much....

IMO to buy a bike for that price just to do random track days is pointless... If you're not competing its just overkill.

Kinda agree with you here.. I don't see any point in them making one even.. the R itself is so sophisticated in components and they are of top quality that you don't need to look at anything more expensive.

Adding 50k more to the price needs to be something totally mindblowing which even the R can't provide and the difference should be massive to justify the price difference

And the cost is going to be 80k for this one change?? I'd rather stay with my 2014 R in that case..

Hey you sound very concerned and worried Lol you have the hottest bike in the marke ! Enough said.... No matter what else comes out is race only and most likely something we can upgrade too... It's quite embarrassing telling ppl this bike is 30 grand, they usually don't understand.... Anything more then that and your not racing then the world needs to laugh at you!!!!!!

May be that is it-"faster then originally expected"....therefore I would like to retract my statement, and apologize to quack in particular, but also to anybody and everybody who's got offended by my insensitive post, to their families, friends, and everybody they've ever met.....

I think this is try for anything above the Base.....The nasty dip in HP output between 5.5-8K rpm from a full Termi system provides for a plausible argument that on the street the R has less power then the less expensive models, and the jump in acceleration is nothing more then the difference between 42t and 39t sprockets the bikes come equipped with. But who is going to admit they paid extra 7k for a paint job and a sprocket.....(Quack, let me know if I need to retract, and apologize for those remarks as well).

I think the R is an exceptional bike, and I salute to those who endured a lot of sacrifice in order to obtain one, good for you. There seem to be a better, more exclusive, and awe-inspiring bike just around the corner.. but so what? It doesn't make your bike any cheaper, at least not to you....
