Workin hard for what you have or being handed everything. It doesn't matter. I think the point is that all the dollars being mentioned to prove some point isn't necessary. You have a heavily modded porsche. You purchased a new 916 panigale. I'm sure you have other expensive hobbies/expenses. One can come to the conclusion that you have some kinda money already on their own without the need for specific cost unless of course someone asks. Just comes off a bit bragadocious.

right on

it’s often interesting to see which sentence or two out of a long post someone keys into or triggers on...I try not to get caught up in the internet dissections though

thanks for your input on the bike though, very helpful

I bought my first CF subframe in 2015 (CDT) the weight savings is significant for sure and I have had zero issues with it. This next build I decided to go with the Pierobon. It’s not much heavier than the CF piece and offers some advantages. One being price and two being modular (bolt on tail piece) so if you do crash it, you don’t smoke the whole thing, more likely just replace the tail. If I were to do it again on the first bike I would have gone Motoholders or Pierobon.

2400 for the tail is a bit much when similar results can be had for less than half that. I use the carbon tanks as well and I would probably do that before the subframe.

Thanks for the tip on the Pierobon ;-)

about the Carbon Tanks...I can’t find any data on how much weight they actually save, real world not advertised lol

also one of the sites stopped selling them because they said they had problems with the tanks.

which one do you recommend and how much weight savings have you seen from them?

I thought there was something wonky about this thread and there it is. The references to a “cheap date by comparison” and just “throwing down the card” pretty much paint the picture. See ya at the Starbucks with the rest of “those” guys.

I suspected it was a flex post from the beginning. The gratuitous flex “I just spent $230k + $150k” just proved it.

I was just looking for advice from more experienced Ducati owners on which bike to buy, I got that from some of you, thank you very much, I learned a good bit from you and am grateful for it.

what I was NOT looking for in this thread was to have a character assessment and a sentence by sentence psychological evaluation of my merits and flaws as a man by internet trolls looking for a culture war.

so with that, thank you to those who offered advice on the bike, and goodbye to those of you offering Personality and character assessments in response to my bike related questions???

I’ll see if as the OP I can delete the thread before it becomes a source of negative energy in the world like a lot of these threads tend to.

Dude relax, take step back and look at this thread from positive side. You've got yourself a sweet bike, do with it what ever your heart desires. This is great community with good people and info, someone will step on your .... from time to time but that's world we live in and you should be used to that by now. Hang around and you can learn a lot!
Cheers,
Bo

I was really good at badminton when I was a teenager, I was knocking on the door of the school team and everything!

Ok Rick that was some funny .... right there. Nicely done , I didn't mean to be critical, my bad I have lived in Newport Beach long enough to "get it". Thats why I order parts online from AMS, so I don't have to go to NBD and see it LOL Anyhow, a belated "welcome to the board" Steven. Its all good man.

P.S You are going to take that gigantic # 1 off that thing before you hit the stops on PCH yes? Ducati might as well have put a bullseye on those things. Or you could stick to Pelican and Javier's were numbered vehicles are common place

That’s a sick Porsche, I miss my high HP car days sometimes but much prefer bikes.
We all get a kick out of the classic ducatista with all the bling and slow lap times, it’s all in jest. You do you man, you got nothing to prove to any of us.

Sick bike you bought too, enjoy it, you might wind up dropping the cars lol.

Lol

man I live I Laguna Hills I hardly ever go to Newport Beach, so a lot of those referances and ‘stops’ are lost on me I’m afraid

I try not to ride the bikes anywhere there is a bunch of stop lights, most of the time that means either Trabuco Canyon to Cook’s corner for a little fun run or I’ll do the out and back on the Ortega Highway

With regard to having a target on my back with that bike, Man I’d have to have some kind of ego to care, let’s face it if I were riding that bike around a lot of other bikers (which I won’t) I’d totally be a poser because that bike is way more bike than I am rider, but I didn’t get the bike to pose with I got it because it’s fun and I’ll grow into it. So I got no ego about this bike or how goofy I look on her lol

my car on the other hand is a different story ha ha ha ha, that thing is set up to be a low-key super car killer, I drive that thing around all belligerent just looking for people with showy fast cars who’s feelings I can hurt, because unlike the bike it’s fast as hell and I DO know how to drive it haha

but me on this bike it’s just the opposite, believe me I know I’m an old fat guy whose a noob rider with more money than sense about the bike he bought lol...I just don’t care though cause I love the bike and love riding it

1st I’ll take it over to Vegas for some of those sport bike track classes...yes I’m that much of a noob, and in my experience those classes at least show you what you DON’T know. Then I’ll start doing some slow group track days with it....for that stuff there will probably be a whole lot of blue painters tape on the bike where those big #1’s are to “protect the paint” hahaha

Nothing wrong with being a poser. My 1 inch chicken strips on my 1199 told me so. My dragster is for gettin rid of chicken strips.

Dude funny you say that, when I have free time for some motoring I hardly ever get in the Porsche anymore, I get in the bike, if I had discovered bikes before I built that Porsche I’d probably have saved a .... ton of money, because the Dopamine rush that you can get from a 20-40k bike is nearly as much as I get from car build that cost 10 times as much, making the car as a thrill machine a waste of money compared to these bikes.

that’s what I meant by these bikes being a cheap date compared to the car...you get WAY more emotion and thrills for your buck on these bikes versus my car.

my car has a power to weight ratio about 0.30, this bike is more like 0.50 which is mental

my car is WAY faster and more savage on acceleration than this bike, but with the bike you feel like your flying so it’s more visceral

Dude funny story about there is ALWAYS someone faster.

A client of mine is a guy named Gary Scelzi who was at one point the top fuel NHRA world champion and world record holder, I drove my car up to Fresno to see him for a meeting and took him for a ride, most people who go for a ride in my car come back with PTSD LOL it’s just manic

my car will do a 60 to 130 right around four seconds flat, sometimes high 3’s if the DA is very good....Gary literally yawned and said ‘aww that’s nice’ lol

the cars he ran hit 300 mph trap speeds in a 1/4 mile...they are at 100 mph in less that one second....crazy

Took a couple weeks for my mind to calibrate to the kind of speed and acceleration my car will do, but Gary ran cars with more than double of that, I can’t even imagine how much of a rush That would be

That car does sound pretty nice, can we see it?

Those are a bit dated now, since we took those we put a bigger exhaust, a 4.0 Evospec engine with Motorsport internals with more boost abs more Meth.

was 910 whp with 740 torque, now it’s at about 1100 whp and 850 torque

it’s ALOT of fun but this bike is funner6701FBF9-D860-418B-8C7D-927465D6F701.jpeg

Yeah I totally get it. I used to have a lot of fast cars and built some high hopes cars for the drag strip. Once I got a bike I’ve had zero desire for cars, now my wife of the other hand wants a new fast car, guess so she can putt around town lol.
Bikes are definitely much cheaper

Let me know what you find out, I never pulled the trigger on the tank because I never saw any specific numbers. I got my bike to 368 tank empty but my AIM hardware, brakes, and frame sliders didn't help.
