@gtomachine710
I got the R and currently have both the R and SP2.
The SP2 is very often spoken about in the way that has happened above. I’m not sure why there’s the hate from a few but there’s plenty of love for it out there.
It’s actually good value IF you want the items that it comes with - better master cylinder, DDA, Superleggera carbon wheels, dry clutch, remote adjuster, Rizoma rearsets and probably some other bits that I’ve forgotten.
If you wanted all the accessories that it comes with then it would cost more than the V4S with those accessories but, as far as I’m aware, you can’t just order the Superleggera wheels unless you have a bike that they came with (happy to be corrected if wrong but they are eye-wateringly expensive).
I’ve still not ridden it yet due to the weather but hopefully tomorrow and track at the beginning of May, so I need to get some km on it! I got the R because I got offered a very good deal on a new one from a dealer and I mostly ride these on track, so I fancied trying the R. If most of your riding is on the road then I suspect the SP2 would be a better bet. Both awesome bikes and I should sell my SP2 but still can’t bring myself to make much effort to do so.
I don’t think you can get the Superleggera wheels.
I don’t think there’s much in it. I think there’s 3hp more (maybe) at the top end on the R but more torque from the SP2.
@Paul G Why so rude to him? Regarding numbers, I’ve seen higher numbers on the top triple on the R than I’ve seen on the SP2. I’d say they are similar numbers, but they aren’t making the SP2 any more so maybe it will end up a bit less than the R.
