I was going to order the 22' S.. Figured why rush. I'm in the process of major work on my home. Which will include a new garage. My 2 current bikes are in a custom car storage facility which I have access to. My good friend owns it.
I decided to wait to see the new R and then make a decision. The SP release did tempt me! As nice as it is, I knew I wanted an R.

I do not track my bikes. Mostly ride solo and rarely open the bikes up. Just enjoy the ride an some twisty roads. Early morning weekend rides for me. I DO LIKE A GOOD LATTE! By only solo! LOL
I just spoke to my dealer. Who was brutally honest with me. They have 12 orders for the SP and doubt ALL 12 will get their bikes. Unless peeps back out of orders. That helped in my decision maybe 5%. He told me they have 5 orders for the R. Well I made it number 6! Put my deposit down today. He said delivery end of August. Which I'm cool with.
I look at the R for me. The same way guys buy say a ZO6 or GT3. I can afford it, always dreamed of it. And now I'm blessed to ba able to pull the trigger. For me every time I open the garage it will make me happy. Even just looking at it.

(None of this factored in my final decision) I also think that this bike may be a great bike to own as a commodity 20 years from now. My 916 (I'm the original owner) has definitely held its value! My thoughts on the R being it probably will be WSB Champ this year. Ducati Constructers Champ and maybe riders title in MOTO GP. The Electric powered bike coming soon. Sustainable fuel regs in racing etc. All lead me to think these bikes may be a decent investment to at least hold some value.
Just my thoughts. Wonder what your opinions are?

And I repeat I LIKE A LATTE (solo), and never track ride!!! Lol
YOLO for me!
Thanks

Considering EU is banning ICE cars by 2035, I think this'll turn into one of those classic bikes that everyone lusts after 10-15 yrs. We're at peak petrol. Not much more to make ICE more efficient and powerful

As long as you enjoy it having been painted by a four year old that'll be great!

I thought I read Druidi Performance designed the paint scheme. His designs are rather polarizing. I for one did not like most of Rossi's helmet designs lol.

All makes sense until "decent investment"... but does not seem like that's a major consideration.

I had a feeling there would be discrepancies in delivery dates. I do live very close to a Ducati dealer. However I went to a BIG dealership to see if that mattered. They are a Moto-America team sponsor "NYC Ducati" aka Warhorse ( I think the team Petrucci rode for this year?).
Not sure if that made a difference?
They had an V4 SP2 there the # was 2200 something. Waiting to be picked up.

I guess I should have said in 10 years the bike may still have some "value". Lol
Not looking to make money. Just thinking it being an R helps hold some value. But who knows?

I'm hoping mine comes in early enough for the track season! Mine is really only for the track. I don't like riding super bikes on the street, I prefer riding my street fighter or Super Duke with a more upright position.

What are everyone's thoughts on how many 2023 V4Rs there will be? 500?
