My opinion (you know what they say about opinions)
Ducati will sell as MANY as they can.....LOL
However to get a gauge on it. I'm going to say some where between the SP2 and SuperLeggera. Also taking into account the current world economy. Which might not play a big roll, but some. I'm going with 1000 units roughly sold. In there life time 500 of those bikes will be totaled between track and road. That leaves 500 "survivors" roughly 5-10 years from now.

Now question for you guys. How many years will this variation of the R be offered?

Wow, are you sure about that? The highest number I’ve seen so far was just over 750.
I just sent an email to my salesman to double check that number. I may be mistaken. Could have been an SP? Not an SP2?
Will post that answer when he lets me know.

This is quite interesting.....certainly around the rear suspension, rear shock length 316mm... combined with the adjustable swing arm position.. makes the rear 20mm higher....(a big no no for our resident umpalumpas)

Highly doubt it was the SP2 and the production chief designer said none (zippo) will enter the US until early 2023.

I have a deposit placed on one so we will see.

Doubt could be avoided by posting a pic in the future 😶.

SP - very possible
SP2 - not a chance

I don’t actually remember seeing an SP that high. The Bayliss has definitely gone over that and I saw a new one recently that I think was 2227 (not sure on the last number but the first 3 were correct).

Me neither. My point was it could have been an SP sitting there but no way was it a SP2!

I wasn’t really addressing the production number claim.

I just know Ducati’s not whipping out as many SP2’s as people desire buying. Go to a Duc dealer and tell them you wanna place a deposit and order one; Ducati of America has the 2023 run sold out 👊

I got lucky - there was one in it’s crate that was available when I walked into my local dealer toying with the idea of getting a Panigale.

overpriced parts bin 'special'....ducati making money not bikes.

buy a base and spend the other 15k on proper accessories not tat....

Agree but I already have a tricked out V4s’s and 950 sp.

Buying the v4sp2 more to just display in my toy room.

One what?

SP2. You know, the parts-bin special bike, albeit using the Superleggera parts bin for a couple of bits. The one that’s overpriced (even though the cost of the parts added to a V4S would be quite a bit more than the retail price).🤣

Mine was the second Panigale SP2 in the Czech Republic as far as I am aware and I think that was it for the year.

put a superleggera there then....or a R

If only I had an extra $100k of play money laying around, I surely would.

The exclusivity and looks of the SP2 captivated me.

The R has been in production for a few years and they are EZ to find for purchase. Aside from the 2023 R, I don’t really care for their aesthetic qualities either. Kinda plain Jane IMO.

Congrats, Sir. I had no idea you owned one. I am super excited about taking delivery of one next year here in the US.

they obviously dont do it for me! A bit like the corse one or the speciale, just a few trinkets of their choice that are not really the best of quality of items you can or would get if you were using 35k to make a track bike ..

At least the R had a link to homologation for the racing even if its been painted by a four year old..
