You know in South Africa we pretty passionate about bikes...
whatever they may be...you will find guys will add full exhaust systems, power commanders, quick shifters , air filters and the kitchen sink just to get that extra HP..
Id like just to add , that after buying the Aprilia APRC , I will NEVER NEVER place any faith in a magazine review, FYI I have an S1000 RR and decided to buy this APRC..without seeing, hearing or riding it
The bike arrived ...beautiful...even had a biaggi WSBK champion sticker on it ( good for a few ponies )
any way..the bike felt sluggish , light, lacking huge amounts of power and after 2000 km...i asked myself wtf is this piece of CRAP...
anyway for those of you who think I digress ...Ive been trying to sell the APRC ( good lord , the amount of money im losing
, add full Ti akra pipe , pc5 bla bla bla ) and have placed a deposit for the 1199
the 1199 was the first one internationally to be raced on our local circuits, and the rider , after initial trials decided to actually remove electronics and go back to standard ohlins suspension..
anyway...in the the race both the ZX 10 and S1 blitz the 1199 like it was looking for parking ...now this would not have been an issue except.. Ducati SA promised a BM " killer" bla bla bla
and on the out set the exotic price tag and lack of performance was a quiet a dissapointment to us avid fans..that also got the " CHECKMATE"
ad campaign..
anyway my order still stands..I will still get one..I just wish companies would stop the BS campaigns and magazine testers would actually have the balls to admit to the emotional impact of these monsters and let the public make a decision based on what brings a smile to your face.
